As I don’t know the score it is good to watch Ray Hankin just scored and then hit the bar

Ray Hankin...showing lots of power and only 18 years old !!

Only just seen this but I think it was on a few weeks ago.

This was the day we got seats just behind the directors box and one of the Luton directors took his seat, then turned round to face us, shifted his specs to one side and left me helpless with laughter.

It was good to see.
Still my favourite team, Ray Hankin was certainly a unit for one so young.

2 CP players down and out and CP played on. I love it, proper men.

Regardless of the state of the pitches and the Burnley win, two things which stand out from that programme,
1) Malcolm Allison's shirt and tie
and
2) Kenneth Wolstenholme's brilliantly understated commentary. Something that today's goons could learn from.

Didn’t matter how a goal was scored, Wolstenholme would say ‘And it’s a great goal’.

One of the few people who could make me laugh without doing anything. That day, when I saw him coming up to his seat, I told myself I was at a football match and not his show and to just ignore him. I did, until he turned round and moved his specs. I was sat with lotty who used to post on here. We were both absolutely helpless laughing. We got the last laugh though with the result, that brought me sunshine.

I did sit just in front of Raquel Welch once at Chelsea so I suppose she could be added to the list of famous people I've seen watching Burnley.

CT --were you not in the presence of royalty in 1962 whilst watching the Clarets?

Great to watch, took me back to my uni days. Still on last though!

Ha ha - I was, but not as close as I was to the other two. I was also close to a group of Lancashire cricketers at Arsenal in 1974. The Gillette Cup Final had been washed out. Definitely there were David Hughes, Farokh Engineer & Bumble.

Luton has/had the weirdest away end I've ever seen.
Going up the steps at the back of the stand, you could almost reach into peoples houses and take food off their table, (if the window was open) they're so close.

Almost? The gents bogs are in the kitchen of one of the houses. You then go up the steps and across to get to the seats.

Seem to remember that the away turnstile is actually built in to that row of terraced houses.

Probably not this game as we won, but I recall one home game against Luton where there was a lag in some not very exciting play and the crowd was very quiet. Then, suddenly, a voice boomed out from the back of the Longside: "Come on Burnley, Eric Morecambe's laughing at yer!" The place erupted...

How did Eric Morecambe come to be involved with Luton Town? The only link I can think of is that he moved to Harpenden, which is just down the road from Luton (though the residents of Harpenden don't like to be reminded of that)

Herts, I once saw Eric Morecambe talking about this on TV. He and his family had moved into the area and he and his son were already both football fans and fancied going to game: the fixtures showed that Luton and Watford were both at home the following Saturday so, according to Eric, it was literally a toss of a coin which made the decision to go to Luton. They enjoyed the family atmosphere at Luton and because of his high profile they were often invited to the directors box: this started his involvement.
