Technical question - 4k HDMI ports

I have recently purchased a 4k firestick. I have plugged it into on of the spare HDMI ports on my tv, and whilst I get a picture, whenever i try to play something in 4k resolution, I get a message advising that 4k playback isn't possible, as the firestick is not plugged into a 4k enabled HDMI port.

I have checked the technical specifications of my TV, and it appears that I only have one 4k enabled HDMI port, the other two are standard HDMI ports.

I need to have my Sky Q box plugged into the 4k enabled HDMI port of the TV to enable me to receive UHD on Sky Q.

My question is... would this product allow me to have both the sky q box and the 4k firestick on the same 4k enabled HDMI port on my TV, to enable 4k playback on both devices, and I switch between two depending on which device I am using at the time?

Thank you in advance for any assistance!

Yes it should work, but on reading that you would have to get up and press a switch on top of the box to change devices over. It's not much benefit than just simply switching leads over.
As you can only have one device in use at one time.

The only benefit I can see is if your port is in a very awkward place at the back of the TV, which would be easier to just reach your arm around to a button than switching leads.

Yes it will. I recently bought a similar thing as I had the same issue and it works fine and get 4k on both devices now.

You can find a similar switch but with a little remote control to save you from getting up to switch the box.

Thanks all for the replies. Good point about a remote control one.

I'm also thinking one with its own power supply, so it's not drawing power from the TV?

Charge your phone in the Hdmi port while watching to judge whether drawing power from the TV affects it.

You could also use this opportunity for a soundbar with multiple HDMI inputs, or an AV Receiver and some speakers with a HDMI switch built in.

Then you'd build on what you have with sound quality.
