Bit more normality here away from all the takeover talk - JBG a doubt for the Chelsea game according to SD. Calf injury.

The fact it took somebody so long to comment on it says it all sadly. Thought he had a decent game on Monday but just too light weight now and we can't carry players like this with our squad size.

So where is our wide right player if Johann is out?

Brady - the one who every time someone goes within 2 foot of him he holds his ribs in agony

We don't have one. It'll be back to Brownhill moving away from his best position.
I think I'd rather see Brady start on the right and keep Brownhill in the middle.

Johann Berg Gonemissing a doubt? well I never.
We could always get Dunne to slot in there, failing that Brady could maybe manage to give us another hour before 2020 is out.

Going to frustrate me more and more every time he’s injured this season! So predictable. Needed cover.

will either be Brady or will be Brownhill.
If Brownhill then Stephens will go into the middle I would suspect.

Maybe play Dwight wide right
Robbie wide left

I think Brady is better on the right, and McNeil better on the left.

Never mind cover for Right Wing it’s more important Garlick gets full value for his shares. He might not get a nice round £100 million if he had started denting the accounts with suitable cover. No wonder he’s in a rush to get a deal through before we lose too many more games and have any more injuries.

This is where the lack of investment in the squad hurts us. We have one injury prone player in that position in the squad and the options to cover his inevitable absences are moving Brownhill out there, thus weakening the midfield, or playing a 32 year old left back there who gives his all but will hardly worry oponents going forward. Its really quite pathetic for a Premier League club.

We have Jay Rodriguez and a reshuffle with Stephens and Brownhill....or Eric.

That can happen when you’ve had broken ribs and opposition players take every opportunity to stick an elbow in there.

I'd personally go
433 / 451
Pope
Lowton Long Tarky Taylor
Brownhill Westwood Stephens
Jay Wood McNeil
451 when defending, 433 when attacking.
Nice and compact and youd expect chrlsea to have a lot of ball, so the extra CM might help us.
Also gives us a threat with extra cover for the turnover.
Jay has played that role before at WBA, so much rather try that than Pieters or Brady to be honest.

This is what I don't get. If we had had decent back up cb/right winger in the first few games, we could well have had a better start. Now the club value will be dropping fast. I have no sympathy for Board about that.

If he was a racehorse he'd be dog meat by now .
Shame, but you start to wonder if he's going to carry on playing much longer

I think it's the law that we have to play 4-4-2 every game no matter what.

I believe Peter Mumby used to have that tag - however it wasn't his injuries it was the manager!!

Whatever division we are in next season, or whoever owns the club, both Brady & JBG need to be upgraded on, thankfully both are ooc, so the decision might be taken out of our hands.

I've commented on JBG's fitness on here several times in the last couple of seasons and am frustrated, as he must be, with his latest setback but some of the posts on here are unfair and not called for. He's not trying to be injured and I recall several posts re: Steven Defour to be very similar.

He looked disappointed to be subbed on Monday, but looking back he may have told the coaches that his calf was troubling him during HT.

Don't you think that spunking 10m on a player would have no real effect on the value of the Club? 10m in the bank = 10m worth of player IMHO

We've not seen the best of JBG for a long time now due to his inability to stay fit. Was starting to look like there might have been a breakthrough this pre season when he was looking strong but an awful tackle and another niggle later and really it's a continuation of the same trend in reality. Such a shame for the lad.

Like Defour Johann is a class act
His level of assists are amongst the best around
I personally would ask him to retire from International football to help him stay fit for us.

I'd agree with that 100%. Chelsea play a very patient ball retention game and last season they beat us comfortably playing 442. A sheer lack of bodies in midfield was our undoing. Mason Mount played just between our defence and midfield, ran things there and Kovacic the same from dpl.

We would do well to upgrade on JBG or Brady if we're in the championship.
Isn't JBG our highest assist player in the premier league?

Season 5 in the Premier league with a 10th finish last season and we still have to rely on a couple of crocks like JBG and Brady and pensioners Pieters and Bardsley.
