Is Pochettino the answer to Utds woes?

I keep seeing Pochs name popping up whilst Utd carry on struggling but I'm not overly convinced he's the man to fix their problems.
I always thought Ole was the wrong man for the job, but I think he's getting little help from above.
Van Gaal and Jose both won trophies at Utd whilst Poch was at Spurs getting his team to play attractive but trophy less football, yet he's now the man to sort Utd out...

I think it's almost inevitable he's going to end up there, maybe even this season. Solskjaer doesn't seem to have a clue what his best team or formation is. Desperately trying to shoehorn Pogba into the starting lineup when his performances haven't really justified it.

He's a guest on the Monday night game, so I'm sure they will question him on his plans.

Good manager who plays entertaining football and was clearly well liked by everyone at Spurs and outside Spurs.
Not sure what the answer is though. Proven managers LVG and Jose didnt get time, support or patience. Fans favourite player OGS isnt up to it - hes not strong minded enough.
To me Mourinho was 100% the right man. But they never wanted him.
Needs a bid character. Someone who has been there and won things. someone the fans will like. And someone who will play youth and good football.
I imagine the perfect fits on that basis would be Zidane or Simeone. Granted Simeone is a bit pragmatic with tactics, he is entertaining all the same.

Simeone would be carnage with that squad, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't take their crap.

Mourinho at United was never the right fit.
Pochettino would be good for United. His lack of trophies at Spurs was more to do with the fact that, despite Spurs being a big club, they were always some way off the monied clubs.
The impact that Bielsa would have, moving from Leeds to Man United would be amazing to sit back and watch. I think he’d do an amazing job at United but the fun would be in seeing Leeds’ reaction.

Manchester United shouldn’t make any rash decisions.

I'd agree with you more if Leicester hadn't won the PL and Spurs came 3rd that season.... 3rd in what was a 2 horse race for the majority of the season.

It was a joke about the culture of some players at United and what could happen if a workaholic manager took over.

Don't be fooled by the softly spoken, happy chappy Ole that appears for the media. He's ruthless behind the scenes and has recently torn a strip off "the new hope" Mason Greenwood for refusing to travel to Newcastle.
This was followed by his declaration he was ready to play away at PSG.
It's the players that are the issue

United have bigger problems than just the manager, it didn't work under Moyes, although you could argue he wasn't given enough time, it worked to an extent under Van Gaal & Jose, they were certainly doing far better then they currently are, 6 home PL games without a win now, and even their away form is questionable, they scored a last minute penalty at Brighton, and had to battle until the last 5 minutes to get a win at Newcastle, they can play as the 5-0 result in the CL showed, but it's finding that consistency that is a problem, mind you that applies to every team in the league this season.
Whether Poch could change their fortunes idk, but they could do far worse, I'll be surprised if they don't enquire about Nuno at Wolves, he's a guy who can develop players, but he's also shown he can handle the pressure at the top level, and I don't think the Utd gig would phase him, the other one that springs to mind is Brendan Rodgers, but I can't see him going to OT, he's building a legacy at Leicester and he'll want to see that through before moving on.

Pochettino I don't see the fuss about. Now I think Brendan Rogers could or Name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit Amen at Wolves might be your man.

The owners check the number of shirt sales before the number of points collected every Monday morning.I would guess the manager of the club shop is in more danger of losing his job at the moment than the manager of the team.

The main issue with United is attitude.
They were renowned for having the hardest working players with the best attitudes. Thats far from the case now.
Even Beckham was well known for how hard he worked. As was Ronaldo.
If Pogba had half that attitude he would be world class. But he doesnt. The whole squad needs dismantling IMO. Look at what happened with Maguire. Sure it was a mistake. And I am sure he can make up for it. But I just dont see how that would have happened under Fergie. He certainly wouldn't have walked back in had it have. I dont think it was crime of the century but its a lack of awareness.
Very few I would keep.

I agree about the attitude thing.
There's a reason why Pogba didn't break into the first team under Fergie.
Same with Morrison moving on etc.
I read an article about Morrison last night, switching his allegiance to Jamaica, but he also said he's now fully aware of how his attitude and lack of application led him to where he is now despite repeated efforts by managers and senior players to try and get him to focus etc.

Poch was looking more like Maradona on the football show. Overweight and in need of a haircut. These lockdowns and being out of work haven't done him any good.

Dunno about that, the longer he's out of work, the better a manager he appears to be becoming.

OGS is just another Brian Laws type appointment for Man U. Clearly they didnt learn from Rio and Evra wondering "why's he here, what's he ever won?" about Moyes, when they appointed OGS. Pogba won against Mourinho ffs, what chance did OGS have?
Personally, I think theres only one manager who could turn them round but unfortunately he's managing the current PL champions.
It is funny listening to my Urmston based family, whining about how they missed out on Klopp, though.

It didn't do Cantona any harm moving to a much bigger club

It was shocking, a guy who could hardly string a sentence together in English trying to get complex football strategies over to the audience. Anyway, enough about Carragher, I agree Poch looked like he's let himself go.
