A pal asked me this the other day and it’s really becoming a pain trying to get the answer;
Right. Who is a clever clogs...
Only one team from the 92 clubs in the top 4 divisions has never won a league title at any level. Who is it?
No google!
Somebody on here must know... help!

Pretty sure Rochdale haven't won a league title since joining the football league but no idea when they were founded and if they won any local leagues in their early days

Rochdale was definitely an answer around 20 years ago but they’ve had two promotions since then and I’m not sure whether they went up winning League Two or not.

It must be an old pre league title cos im sure their recent promotion werent as champions. Carlisle and Crewe are a couple of other guesses Id go for

Macclesfield nope can't be them.
I'd say Oldham but I'm sure they've won titles recently.

Yes I wondered about Barrow, but unless it's a trick
they did win the NL last season, and Stanley certainly romped to the NL title several years ago on their long awaited return to the league.

It is Rochdale. Their three promotions have all been as runners-up.
edit: they did win the Lancashire Combination title twice before they turned professional.

Even Morecambe won the Lancashire Combination 5 times - but have no other League titles having been promoted as runners-up from the Conference.

I was thinking Blackpool but they won the second division in 1930, their only ever league win.

Just wikied Crewe and they are the answer but were top of their division when the season was ended by covid. Although they were promoted Swindon were declared Champions on PPG.
