JBG and Brady

Injured again after their International games. Are they ever fit? No matter how much rest, how much rehab they only have to sneeze and they are injured again. JBG has this never ending calf injury, both are doubts for the Palace game. To be honest, I could say that about every game

May be its just me, but if I was them I would feel bad about going out on International duty, and not play on the basis of recurring injury. It would not surprise me if Brady has played more minutes for ROI since January than the club, yet its us paying his wages. If it continues like this at least we wont miss them when their contracts run out

File under..can't be relied upon or Fragile as glass, carrying two players while we only have a small squad is terminal!

These players have no affiliation with England or Burnley, however are probably proud Irish/Icelandic men.
Yes we pay their wages, but it's a job in another country, theyll probably like visiting home and catching up with their people, as most would do if they worked in z foreign country and getting to go home was a rare commodity.
You're right though, the both seem to be made out of tissue.
How the board didnt think a wide man was a matter of emergency is truely baffling.
If anything it was more needed than a CM.

We really can't treat them as squad players. They are players who can play a few games a season but that's about it.
So as far as I'm concerned, the club do not currently have a right winger, and don't have a backup for McNeil.

Brady's injuries appear to be differing. However with JBG maybe its time to see a calf specialist. It seems to be permanent hamstring/calf. Yes it is a crime we did not recruit a right footed wide man.
By comparison Saints lost Redmond through injury and went and got Walcott on loan. I was mocked at suggesting him on transfer deadline day but he has already paid part of his costs with his contribution, versatility, assists and goals

Maybe our medical team are poor compared to other premier league clubs?
Our players injuries never seem to get better and certainly take far longer to come back fully fit.

Totally agree with the idea they would play for their country when they are fit. I dont think anyone on here wouldn’t do the same in their position. It is frustrating though for us wanting them in claret and blue.
I’m a fan of both when they’re fit, especially JBG but it’s just not often enough. It wouldn’t be so bad if they could organise between themselves to be injured half a season each so we had 1 player between the 2 of them all season!

It's time for both of them to go. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to offload them due to our current squad size.

It's actually ridiculous that they are even being made available for international duty given that they are pretty much injured whenever we want them.

The injured twins struggle to be available for half a game each before their latest injury, never mind half a season. I know i will get the usual "they don't choose to be injured" stuff, same as we had when Defour spent most of his time with us sat in the stands, but it does seem to be certain players who can injure themselves putting their shinpads on. Defour and now Brady and JBG all seem to fall into this category. With a squad as short on players as ours, we can ill afford to be carrying passengers.

So JBG asked for the clown from Lincoln to kick him up in the air, the start of his injury nightmares. And this season he suggested that the SheffU knob should go through the back of his calf? Get real fella

In our 7 PL games this season Brady's has played the following amount of minutes 40 at Leicester, 21 at West Brom, 17 at home to Chelsea, and the full 90 at Brighton, so out of a possible 630 minutes, he's contributed 168 that's less than 2 complete games, that's nowhere near acceptable for a club with a thin squad.
Now JBG he's played 69 minutes at West Brom, 84 minutes at home to Spurs, and that's his entire contribution so far this season, 153 minutes of football, hard to believe but that's even lower than Robbie's ratio of minutes on the park.
It baffled me why we offered Brady a one-year extension in the summer, and my fears haven't been allayed by his lack of action again this season.
Thankfully both he and JBG are ooc next June, surely the club won't be foolish enough to offer them new deals, both are better off auditioning for Casualty or Holby City given how long they spend on the treatment table, and besides wasting a fortune in wages on this pair of shirkers, we are badly stretched for numbers, and anyone expecting either to play a major part in our survival battle during the rest of the campaign is seriously deluded.

I'm told they are not injured - that they just need to be assessed as do all players on return from international duty. That has to be done even more vigilantly in the current situation too.

Now you're just being greedy.
2 *wide players left, it would have been groundbreaking had we got 1 in to help fill the void.
We are a club well known for taking risks regards being short on numbers in a couple of areas at any one time.
Then we cry it in when the gamble bites us in the ass.

I wouldn't disagree Benson & Goodridge are potential options in cm if we want to move Brownhill to the right, or we could promote this lad Ne-Jai tucker, he's the only specialist right winger I can find in the development fold, is he up to playing for the 1st team who knows, but given the scarcity of options we may not have much choice but to blood one or two youngsters, and you never know we might get a pleasant surprise if we throw them in, as happened with Dwight.

We extended Brady's contract why? he's been a sicknote for a good couple of seasons now, we should have got rid and got a younger faster winger through the door, there must be aspiring wingers out there surely that we could attract for a reasonable budget and wages, instead of spending a fortune on Robbie for little or no return.
4 games and counting without a goal, and we're hardly threatening to change those stats anytime soon.

That makes a lot more sense, Brady has played fine in both outings for ROI, and didn't leave the pitch as if he was injured. The 2 games will have done him good, and hopefully benefit us.

Thanks it gives me no pleasure to write it, but there's no point beating around the bush we're desperately short in wide areas, and heaven forbid if Dwight picked up a long term injury, he's the one fulcrum to our attacking threat, and it's

that we're so reliant on a 20 year old who's still learning the game.

I think we gave Brady a 1 year extension because there was little to no chance of us signing somebody, otherwise. So it was a case of having someone for a few games this season, or be yet another player down in numbers.
Not sure why we didn't do the same with Lennon though, unless his wage demands were too high and/or wanted longer than 12 months.

Well he got offered 2 years elsewhere, regarding the wage demands I don't think kayserispor have the best track record with player payments.

Made of tissue, and 1 clearly not up to the job of being a premier league footballer.
Not sure how they'd get in playing saturday tuesday every other week in the championship.
JBG has a make or break season coming up, however for me Brady is finished at this level.
His injuries are too frequent, he's lost a yard of pace he never had, and is so low in confidence he isnt actually wanting to try and beat a man.
Shame, but can see him at a Derby type side next season, I'd be amazed if he got another deal here or at any premier league club.

Thought JBG showed good moments, and with a good run of starts can play a major part-lost his winger in the first half that nearly led to a goal, but his first time cross led to our goal (Palace looked risky in defense v Jay and Wood)
As for Brady-I agree he does not look well, but in fairness imagine how he is feeling with his run of bad luck. I can remember his body language frustration when his ribs got damaged v Leicester, and he really looked beaten when lying down last night. He needs good attention right now and encouragement from the coaches
Personally I would push Pieters ahead of Brady to play. Its a square peg in a round hole, but whatever match we are in the odds are we will be defending for our lives. Last night Pieters let no one down and his experience led to a superb timed tackle that nullified a late scoring position. This guy may lack a bit of pace but gives his all, and I suspect would continue on one leg if he had to
