Absolutely top notch from Tarky..

Just seen this, Excellent from Tarky 👏

You may have seen a post earlier in the week on young Freddie aiming to run 100k to raise money for RMCH as his friend Hughie is being treated for leukaemia there on Ward 84.

Well, Tarkys seen the challenge and nipped round to theirs this morning to drop off a PS5 for both Freddie and Hughie.

Hughies father said, “The support and kindness being shown by so many people towards Hughie and in support of Freddie’s challenge really is overwhelming.”

Really restores your faith in humanity, good to see a footballer in touch with the community and also great to see our players who always seem to be great with the public doing us proud again.

What a great gesture, we have some really decent lads at Burnley
I really wish he'd stay. He was 28 on Thursday, so by the time he's run his contract down he'll be nearly 30, hardly likely to find a club further up the table at that age, and certainly no chance for England.

True but he won’t be here beyond this season. We won’t want him to run down his contract and go for nothing in 18 months. We need a ready made replacement for when he goes

They appear to be adhering to social distancing guidelines judging by the pictures, and they're also outside, which as anybody will tell you is a much safer environment than an indoor setting.

Yes of course it's a great gesture from Tarks, and further proof that the BFC players don't live in a bubble and are aware of the outside world.

Well done Tarks, be sorry to see you go, but it seems inevitable that it will happen sooner or later.

Think that makes this even better for me.... not just confined to helping fans of the club he's playing for. Reyts reyt, regardless of the badge.

Cant see it reyt...is it Stanley?

It's a wonderful gesture from Tarks and but for Hughie's dad sorting some pictures, I doubt it would have garnered any publicity. They are a really lovely, down to earth claret supporting family (even if Hughie's mate, who has worked so hard to support him, is wearing a Stanley coat! :) ) who are going through a hell of a lot right now and this must have given them all a huge boost. Heartwarming.

Hadn’t seen this until on the news just now. Yep, great from Tarky and hopefully a brief bit of joy for that family. Hadn’t seen the story or post earlier, is it worth “bumping” the post back to the top of the board, or adding a link for any donations ......

Any donations can be made here. I'd echo the comments from above about the family.

I know other clubs have players who do it, but we have more, and I continue to believe that having players with this kind of character is exactly what will pull us away from the bottom 3 as well as being good for the local community.

Wanting to progress his career I have no problem with, as long as while he is here he is 100% on the pitch and this good off it :D

Don’t worry! Freddie’s a big Burnley fan and a regular on home and away games but he plays in Stanley’s Academy so supports them too and the reason for the Stanley Jacket/kits. Thanks for the support and fingers crossed for three big points tonight! UTC!

Non-Burnley fans and pundits who act as though Dyche''s insistence on researching a player's character and temperament before signing them as though it's an indictment of his ability to manage players need to look at stuff like this and consider that stance. Brilliant from Tarky.

If we look to the Championship, there's a lad at Norwich who is looking a decent prospect.

Freddie runs for Hughie at Turf Moor

Cannot see it anywhere else.

What a great story for today, on BBC Breakfast and ongoing on BBC News on 2.

9 yo Freddie runs 2k each day, to raise funds, for the hospital treating his friend Hughie, for cancer. Poor Hughie having chemo.

Aim ÂŁ1000 by running 2k until Christmas morning. Total then 100k.

ÂŁ22000 raised so far.

This morning, he ran around Turf Moor accompanied by Ashley Barnes and Jimmy Dunne. Tremendous for a 9yo. Brilliant that hours after being in London and gaining points for the Clarets, 2 of our heroes turned up and ran with him. Others were there too. Rodriguez and Westwood, I think but not certain.

What a wonderful happening!

Best wishes to Hughie for a complete recovery.

Also a five minute feature on BBC Breakfast https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m ... t-14122020

Go to 21.30 seconds into the show.

Looks like it as filmed some time ago as they say they have reached ÂŁ16000 and the amount is closer to ÂŁ30000

Two top young Clarets and well worth a watch.

I wouldn’t be so sure about it being filmed some time ago
The number of donations following today’s publicity could easily have double the amount

But what an inspirational young lad

From the Just Giving up dates it looks as if the run at the Turf was filmed on 10th December as that day Freddie posted about running some where cool but not being able to tell anyone until Monday. What a fantastic lad.
