Strangely enough, I am looking for a VPN myself and was looking at the link below for NordVPN. The product has good reviews on the internet, so a possible option for you.

I use surfshark. I can't remember how much it was but it will have been cheap as I don't pay through the nose. It's easy to use and I have never had any problems with it.

Been warned against using NordVPN due to them sharing your details with other companies.

I’ve got NordVPN, and it’s very reliable. I paid £80 for 3 year subscription, which is really good value! Previously had VYPRVPN, which wasn’t anywhere near as good, and I was paying monthly £7. The really cheap VPN’s tend to be the slowest and least reliable. With VPN’s you get what you pay for.

Buy a shared account on reddit or eBay. Otherwise I'd go for Mullivad.
You get what you pay for with a vpn so if you get the cheapest you'll get more slow servers.

I use NordVPN. It might not be great value on a month by month basis but as someone else said, £80 for 3 years is pretty good. It’s very reliable.

NordVPN was on quidco last week with 100% cash back.
If you're not on quidco, register it's free, and VPN offers come on almost every other week. Antivirus is the same, I got McAfee for 2 years with 98% cashback last month.

I've just got ProtonVPN and had no problems so far. It's totally free and the games I have watched using it have been absolutely faultless.

From others' experience, what has been the issues with Proton?

Purchase any of these VPNs through Quidco, they often give you around 50% cashback. Nord VPN is 56% back at the minute. Use the link below to sign up and once you have £5 cashback confirmed we will both receive another £12.50.

Money for old rope.

Occasionally they do 100% cashback too when running various promotions, so keep an eye out for that too. Fairly sure it was Nord VPN offering 100% cashback last week.

In my very basic knowledge of these things, a VPN creates a new IP address which is "beamed" from another country. I only use mine for football streams so, like yesterday, I used my VPN to connect from the US which means watching PL football online is great. The downside is it gave me an uninterrupted stream of our game yesterday which was upsetting, to say the least :) I'm sure more technically gifted people can explain how they work much better than me.

I'd be wary of buying/using a 'lifetime' VPN from eBay, there's a reason they are very cheap and you usually can't change the VPN account email/password..

I'm loving the contradiction here.

You can put Nord VPN on 6 devices, so people sell the the other 5. Everyone uses the same password.

Some people buy accounts and sell all individually on places like Ebay.

I understand that but I do question if the account details are legally every one of the ebay sellers to sell to 5 or 6 others or if they are actually 'hacked' accounts.

Having said that I've just been on Quidco and NORD are offering a 2 year plan for £68 covering 6 devices with 100% cashback, maybe all the ebay sellers are just cashing in on that..... ;)

I personally use VPN Unlimited, you can get a lifetime subscription in a one off payment, on offer again at the moment.

I've used it for years and had no issues, occasionally need to jump to a quieter node but also simple to use for any technophobes.

I write about VPNs for a living so hopefully I can be of help here. For those wondering, a VPN is a Virtual Private Network. It basically takes your internet traffic and routes it through an encrypted tunnel to one of its servers (you can choose the server location). In connecting to a server, you're assigned a new, temporary IP address.

There are two main reasons why you'd want to use a VPN/change your IP address. Arguably most common is to access content that is region-locked and unavailable in your location (typically due to copyright and licensing issues). A good example of this is streaming services such as Netflix and BBC iPlayer. With a VPN, you can connect to a server in the appropriate country and access such websites and services even when traveling abroad.

Another reason you might want to use a VPN is security. This is pretty important in the UK which is a member of the Five Eyes intelligence alliance. The UK government collects quite a lot of data from citizens. Part of this is making it mandatory for ISPs to log your browsing data and retain the information for at least a year. A VPN protects you from this because it encrypts your data, shielding it from hackers and snoopers. Any quality VPN should have a strict no-logs policy so that even if your data is requested by the authorities, they should have nothing to provide.

I would advise against using free VPNs. They tend to offer servers in only a limited number of locations and are typically very slow (and may throttle your bandwidth). More important, if a service is free then you are typically the product. Some free VPNs log your data (including your browsing history) and sell this data to third parties. Those that don't tend to be pretty spammy with ads.

Personally, I use Surfshark. It's headquartered in the British Virgin Islands where there are no mandatory data retention laws. Speeds are decent and it has around 3,000 servers in 65 countries. Unlike the vast majority of VPNs, it allows unlimited simultaneous connections so it's great for sharing with family. Surfshark has plenty of security features (256-bit AES encryption, DNS and IPv6 leak protection, and a kill switch). MultiHop (Double VPN) servers are also available. These basically connect via two locations so that your data is encrypted twice for extra security (note that this is slower).

NordVPN, CyberGhost, ExpressVPN, IPVanish, and PrivateVPN are also decent options. Any questions just give me a shout!
