Ben Davies of Preston , is going to Liverpool. Funny that Leicester nearly got him before Forfana. Just mentioning this as everyone keeps telling me how hard this window is, and I have seen his name appear on this forum since last year.. He must be some player, and you would have thought that before Liverpool knocked on his door, a guy out of contract in Summer would have jumped at the chance of joining us

So you want us to sign a fifth senior forward to add to Wood, Rodriguez, Barnes and Vydra - fair enough. I don't believe that would be a wise use of our relatively scarce resources.

Possibly but he specifically referred to Mumbongo. A right midfielder is high up the priority list in my view.

I am amazed at the lack of ambition in our fan base. Yes we have survived in the PL for 5 years. Yes we have put runs together numerous times. And yes we are not at the foot of the table.Almost as if we are exempt from relegation-even then I suspect some fans would accept relegation. For me we should be doing everything within reason to prolong that experience, before we become another Stoke City. If we continue as we are thats an inevitability

Most post-mortems of Stoke agree they were relegated because they tried to evolve beyond the solid identity they had created. Their record transfers on flair playes signaled the beginning of their decline after many solid seasons.
Trying to achieve more a attractive 'Stoke-a-lona' style they lost the "can they do it on a cold rainy night in Stoke" aspect of their play which kept them competing.

Also a house isn't a great analogy, a house is a permanent structure where as a football team is a concept with ever replaceable parts.

So,are you are saying that Ben Mee was mistaken when, in an article published in The Guardian last Summer, he stated that the club needed 3 or 4 new additions to the squad numbers and that it was almost embarrassing at times to see the bench filled with youth team players? During some fixtures we couldn't even name the required number of substitutes.

A couple more injuries and we will be back in that dark place.

I think it’s a bit different signing young players that are producing and have the calibre to be good players like Eze, Knight etc....

Rather than the three lads that I mentioned who have played less than 100 professional games put together in there careers (90% of which have been lower than championship level) They are on the bench merely to fill the numbers with the occasional cap here of there.

I'd have been happy enough had we signed Kenny, he seems the right sort of profile for us and I'd always be happy to trust Dyche when it comes to defenders.

It's exactly what we've come to expect. We simply cannot recruit anymore - nothing has changed in that respect, and things may well be worse now. The accounts next year will make very interesting reading.

We have limited funds, and RB wasn’t the priority.

Perhaps we’ve a few irons in the fire, and paying Everton’s asking price would impede other possible signings?

I’m still hopeful there’ll be reinforcements by tomorrow.

I’m a big believer that Dyche wouldn’t leave the club because he would struggle to get another prem club at the moment. However if he is free agent he becomes much more attractive.

Dyche has got to be incredibly frustrated pulling rabbits out of the hat week in week out

If there isn't anything incoming tomorrow then it's disgraceful. Fair enough if we didn't surrender to Everton valuation but we can't dictate every transfer fee otherwise we will end up with no one

You're unbelievably argumentative on here, he was a target and he's gone elsewhere. That's missing out. What are you disagreeing with? If Dyche thought he could get better then we would have been targeting them instead
