no-one has started this thread yet, I noticed Villa haven't drawn yet this season, I think that'll change against us, I'll opt for a 1-1.

The Clarets will win.
Anyone know if it’s on TV?

It's on Amazon. I'd take a draw right now after Sunday's excellent win.

I’m going 3-1 Villa
I think they’ll have too much going forward, particularly Graelish, who we completely failed to contain in both games last year. No disrespect to Lowton because not many defenders in the PL can contain him, but I think that will be a mismatch.
I’d like to think we’d change things to counter this threat - play Pieters right & double up or man mark him - but given we tend to stick with the same formation/system/team every game, I just can’t see it.

FWIW Since beating Liverpool 7 - 2 Villa have lost their last three home games ( vs Leeds, Southampton and Brighton ) conceding 12 goals in the process.
We can do this if our forwards get their mojos back, only two goals between all four of them in 11 matches, albeit their chances have been limited.

A draw; 1-1 or even 2-2. Villa are good going forward but not defensively. Our defence has tightened up and I think we are due a goal or two.
Villa have Luiz and Cash out, Barkley may make the bench but probs unlikely as a starter.
Incidentally- I've seen it reported that Tom Heaton may be on the Villa bench (having come through some under 23 games).

I fancy us 0-2 or 1-2
Villa are an open playing side but they’re nowt special , a side who will allow the likes of McNeil and Jay Rod a bit more service could be painful for them . We’ve a lot more confidence and defensively we’re looking a lot tighter

Nowt special other than beating the reigning champions 7-2

I prefer to make judgements after kick off (when I see how the teams look on the field for a couple of minutes) but I’ll go for 1-2 with Aston Villa’s goal coming from a penalty and a last ten minutes resembling the Alamo.... it with us holding out.

Problem is, these three teams are all free-flowing, attacking teams that went toe to toe with Villa to expose their weaknesses in defence. We'll just sit back and soak it up most likely. I'm hoping we tweak our system for tonight!
Do need our forwards to find form too - agree with that!

1-2 Wood 1st goal. (that's always my bet) Not been lucky. Bet365 gave me a free fiver bet. I've banged it on. Pays £300. Gladly take a scrappy 0-1 though. UTC

When players don't perform, most managers drop them.
Time for Vydra to get a full game, instead of a 10 or 20 min cameo when it's too late.
I really rate him and JayRod together but it won't happen unless Wood is injured.
Therefore, 2-0 Villa.

I’d take a draw and a good performance, if you look at their games in hand they could be right up there. Due to recent Grealish headlines and the opposition I expect him to be centre stage, I think we need to wind him up, he’s generally very good at handling it to be fair.

Vydra had his run and wasn’t scoring goals, be surprised if he ever gets another whilst our strikers are fit

Yes, I'll be surprised as well, but our current forwards have scored a massive two in eleven games.
Time for a change.
