Aston Villa versus MIGHTY CLARETS

Madge is still on a high from our deserved 3 points in London, however, she, like us, is focused on another 3 points, this time in the Midlands.

We stole their club colours, let's raid them for 3 points.

Matt Lowton and Ashley Westwood hattricks would go down well!

Come on you Clarets. Light that fire!

Heaton not on the bench.

I forgot he got injured playing against us, it seems like it was so long ago.

He's still not back playing though they were reporting earlier he may have featured tonight so should be anytime soon.

Tom made his comeback in the u23 game against us recently and has played a couple more. They were expecting him to be on the bench tonight but that's not the case.

Good news for him.

I'm still hoping he'll come home one day!

we have definately had two of the best keepers in the country in recent times with Heaton and Pope. Both phenomenal.

Wood needs to prove why he's starting today.

Agreed and we also had internationals Joe Hart and Anders Lindegaard on our books at the same time. Four outstanding goalkeepers. 👍🏻

Prove?

He's starting because he's our best forward, has scored 36 goals since signing for us in the Premier League and is our most likely. It really is as simple as that.

I'm hoping that Dwight McNeil has sorted it out with Chris Wood. If the ball is going to fall towards Chris Wood's head, then Chris Wood can head it past the keeper and into the goal - even if Dwight McNeil is a few paces to his left and also has a chance to score should Chris Wood not head the ball.

Did anyone work out what Chris Wood was saying to Dwight McNeil at Arsenal? Was it "you distracted me" or "why didn't you tell me I'd got a clear header," or something else?

He is our best forward hands down. But only 2 goals this season which says he is out of form. He needs to show the form we are use to seeing from him.

(That's more encouragement than a moan!)

He is our best forward and fingers crossed another great chance is created and he puts it away tonight. Certainly getting in the right positions which is better than him not being there

"He needs to show the form we are use to seeing from him."

And if he doesn't, he wants hooking off sharpish. How many more sitters is he going to be allowed to miss?

Those 2 are 2 more than all the other strikers added together. He’s missed a couple of good chances fair enough but that happens.

2 is 1/3 of all the goals we have scored this season - and our own players haven't scored all of those few.

That's true. Although the question arises would we have scored more with a Jay and Vydra partnership. Maybe, maybe not. Don't get me wrong, Wood should be starting but needs to start converting his chances.

Let's hope he can get a few tonight.

Come on you Clarets!!

2 goals only but in a “crippled” side that has struggled for half the games played. He’s been feeding off scraps.

From bbc

3 mins
Post update
Aston Villa 0-0 Burnley
Bertrand Traore cuts in from the right wing and flashes in a low cross but it's well dealt with by the typically dependable Villa backline.

🤔🤔

Just back from an afternoon with the neighbours and too much whiskey.
Only to find a female summariser who appears to be a big Villa fan. Has nothing positive to say about us.
