Good report CT, I hope it brought you some much needed Christmas cheer writing it.

Certainly some posters had their words rammed down their throats with Barnes performance last night, and although people say Dwight had a quiet game, his role in the 1st goal summed up our endeavour, that was the difference, along with that extra bit of quality in the final third.

16th at Christmas isn't great, but it's a damn sight better than where we were only a few short weeks ago, it's wise not to get carried away, as we're still embroiled in the relegation mix, however performances such as last night can only breed confidence within the whole club.

The feel good factor appears to have returned to BFC, and the MB, long may it remain.

Awful free kick from Dwight on the right but then he's the one who recovered the ball on the edge of our own box on the left. That says everything about our players.

Overall I thought it was a terrific performance last night after the first 15 minutes or so. That's how we play when we are playing well and let's hope there are a lot more performances to come like that. To have got up to a point a game after the start is excellent.

Charlie's running away with the MOM and he played well, but that was a team performance last night starting with those two brilliant central defenders.

Seasons best performance. The next 4 games are vital. If we can repeat last night, a large gap between the bottom 3 and ourselves will emerge. Our final position will depend on either recruitment of a couple of new players or good fortune with injuries

Good to read your comments about our start to the 2nd half. It was excellent and I think Wolves expected us to be protecting our goalmouth rather than looking to add to the scoreline. Very proactive and a goal that turned out to be the match winner.

are we top of the mini league now? is there anyone else to he dragged into the bottom 5 or 6.l? got to expect arsenal to get their act together. Leeds possibly. palace and west ham have a bit too much quality to get dragged down. last nights win should help demoralise west Brom and fulham.

It's fair to assume Sheff Utd are doomed, so there's only 2 spots remaining, West Brom look short of quality, now Sam might splash the cash in January, but even if he does they've got a tough job on their hands, Fulham are showing signs of improvement and picking up useful points, if any of the middling teams are going to be dragged in, I'd be looking at Newcastle, they've been poor for a few weeks now, and ASM being out is a big loss for them, and Steve Bruce is struggling to win their fans over, I could definitely see them plunging down the table given their tough festive schedule.

I didn't realise we had three goalkeepers on the bench. It makes sense. Clubs are more likely to use their third goalie than they are to use their eighteenth outfield player!

The current run of form is certainly what the doctor ordered, SD has been saying for a couple of games prior that the signs were there that we were shaking off the sluggish start & finding some form, as already mentioned it’s wise not to get too carried away as complacency will rear it’s ugly head.

Thanks Tony for all your efforts and a balanced view. Personally, I never doubted we would improve once we got all our injured players back Re teams getting "dragged " down. I still feel Newcastle will be down in the bottom three post Xmas. They looked poor v Brentford

Thanks for the continued reports CT, like many others I look forward to reading them. What struck me about the game, which you highlighted was how at the start of the second half we immediately got on the front foot, something we haven't done in a great number of games. An excellent result in the end which was fully deserved, so pleased for Barnes and Wood, it will do their confidence the world of good. The next game is a big test for us but one I'm sure we can compete in.

Some of you have mentioned the start to the second half. I quite often worry when we come out a goal up and allow the opposition to come on to us, but we didn't give them the opportunity at all and even before the second goal we'd hit the bar with that Josh Brownhill effort. Basically we'd won the game in those few minutes and in truth they never really threatened to get back at us, there were just those few nervy minutes after the penalty.

Wolves’ intensity levels looked well below par, and I think our players and coaching staff sensed this and knew that a second goal would kill the game off. Which as you say absolutely did, other than a penalty which came totally out of the blue.

Is that a last minute(or thereabouts) penalty the last three times we have played Wolves?

Both deep into stoppage time last season, the one they got at Molineux was a joke, so Monday's was a little bit earlier scored in 89 mins. I'd no argument with this one though.
