If it’s true, it’s outrageous and underlines just how much his relationship has deteriorated with MG. It could all just be well-rehearsed media spin though.
I find it hard to believe, but yesterday’s leaks that ALK have asked to speak to him about Jan transfer plans and had those requests refused are even stranger.
Why, if you were committed to selling a club and at a significantly advanced stage, would you not meet a reasonable request like that?

Dyche knows that an imminent takeover is possible and it is possible, as a result of that, he may receive funds to strengthen the squad.
I don't see anything astounding in Dyche not being privy to the finer details of the negotiations. Why on earth should he be ?
He'll have his targets identified, one assumes and will be ready to move for them if and when he can.
In other words, he'll be doing his job while the board do theirs.

Not suggesting he should be appraised of the finer details of what will be a very complex commercial transaction, nor would he expect or want to be, I’d imagine.
What I find astounding is the prospect, if his “I know nothing” routine is to be believed of course, is that a) as a manager of the club for 8 years, highest paid employee, and the person in charge of the most important employee’s, he is finding out things at the same time as Joe Public. And b) that ALK have progressed the sale allowing that situation to happen. I would’ve been much more forceful in securing his services as part of the deal, if I were spending £200m on a club.

I think you're reading too much into the "I know nothing" routine.
He's hardly likely to come out with any details of any discussions he may or may not have regarding the effect of a £200 million takeover deal, is he ?
Especially one that's not even been finalised/announced yet.

Think we’re saying the same thing then. Astounding if it’s true, but probably not...!
Do think Sean manages the media very well in that respect.

He knows exactly what his January's budget is..... He might not have got it face to face with Mr pace, but he has got it.

He does look very convincing. He could’ve just shrugged it off as “I know nothing” or “I can’t talk about that”, but the fact that he makes clear “I know nothing and I’m actually really ****** off about it” suggests to me he’s telling the truth.
I can’t believe Garlick would be blocking it out of spite, so presumably they just don’t want it to happen until the ink is dry. Does this suggest he thinks there’s still scope for it to fail?

Beyond deteriorated from what I've been told. It's non existent and has been for a long time. Takes two to tango and also takes two to have an argument or fall out so there will be blame on both sides but the simple fact is that this vital relationship has broken down beyond repair.

You would hope so whether it is £100 million or ten quid. The simple fact is that it is 30th December and the window opens on 2nd January so if we are going to be active (Dyche's choice of word) then we have to be able to plan to an extent as to whether we are bringing in ten quid players or more expensive players.

" Face to face with Mr Pace " ...I like it ...has the ring of a certain oft repeated current slogan

Such a shame when both have contributed so much.
Hopefully close to a resolution

Given we're experiencing the best period, league & position wise, in more than well over 40 years, and that's how things are, its really sad.

I would hope that Garlick at least has the decency to thank Sean Dyche and his team for the huge windfall that he’s about to land.
