Raise a glass

Come on fellow clarets, let's raise a glass to all clarets throughout the world, and they are everywhere, to all our new friends over the pond but especially to all the clarets we have lost this year. What a terrible year it has been for some, personally I have lost both my father in law and mother in law. God bless you all.

And let's hope for a better year in 2021.

I'll be raising a glass to my son who was born sleeping in March. Had so many plans and couldn't wait to take him on the turf. Glad to see the back of 2020 for many reasons.

To everyone we lost during this terrible year.

I love this board when we have threads like this, Clarets just being decent human beings, as we have said in the past the interactive pub , let's raise a glass to Tony and the other mods for enabling us all to be like this and help him and them rid this board of the idiotic wind up merchants by reporting and ignoring them.
Cheers Tony.🍺

It's been a dreadful year on so many levels. From personal bereavement, to my wife almost succumbing to Covid and the lengthy list of household names leaving us. One of my lifelong favourites, Tim Brooke-Taylor died on my birthday. My aunt died on Boxing Day.

I've had Covid too, but nowhere near the level my wife had. And despite it all, I have so much to be thankful for. My neighbours and colleagues at work rallied round at my time of need. I am fortunate enough to be in a line of work that wasn't affected by any furlough scheme and I have regained my health and my wife is seeing the new year in with me.

Football took a backseat, the only game I watched so far this season was the Sheffield United one.

I'm hoping for much better in 2021. For everyone. And maybe, just maybe, those magical footballers of ours can provide us with some truly memorable moments once again.

Happy new year to you all.

Sorry to hear of your loss Bones, I can't think of anything more upsetting than losing a baby.

Life is but a train journey where none of us know which station to get off
My wife and my plans for the future have been thwarted as although 5 years my junior out of the blue she had a massive stroke on November 2 nd and passed on the 12th
So to all fellow clarets life is so precious and we need to give our loved ones and friends extra hugs when we can as we never know when we will lose them. Never take life for granted, we are only leasing it
I hope all fellow clarets have a better 2021 than 2010 and that posters on here can argue and debate but without acrimony and insults
IMO this board is not as happy a place as 2020 closes as it was when it opened and how sad it is that because of our collective behaviour so many posts are banned due to the song because of fears that the singers will ruin it with abusive and insulting posts
And to the moderators I wish you a less stressful 2021 as you strive to protect the site from litigation

Happy New Year to all posters. As John Lennon would say, let’s hope it’s a good one without any tiers.

Love to you all x

On a less important note than the ones above, there will probably always be people posting on here to try and get a reaction, maybe as a 2021 resolution we could all just block them and avoid feeding them with comments?

UTC, get behind the lads and your fellow Clarets.
