Sky have sent me an email to activate Netflix on Sky as I have “the Ultimate TV Bundle”. We already subscribe to Netflix but Sky imply that we don’t need to pay separately as it’s already included. Is this right? Is there a catch? Will it be chargeable in months to come? I haven’t time to wait in a queue to talk to Sky, maybe some guru on here can help?

No catch I took sky q in November and cancelled my Netflix DD

My sister got Sky Q in the summer and has netflix included...

When I took Netflix it just automatically switched and I received a email off Netflix confirming the change, so no issues, the only issue I did have was i had an account that allowed me to watch on multiple devices but when changed it was only for one person to view on tv or laptop etc at a time.

Same here ..we dont pay netflix now ..its included in the sky q package

I work for Sky so can answer this...your Ultimate TV bundle includes Netflix...the email you have received will link your current Netflix account to your Sky account and Netflix will stop charging you. However, the level of subscription you will get through Sky will be dependent on other factors...

So.....here goes....

If you do not have HD then you Netflix sub will be the basic i.e. Standard def and 1 screen
If you have HD then you get the HD sub which is 2 screens
If you have multiscreen and/or UHD then you will get the top sub which is the 4k and 4 screens.....

This is regardless of your previous subscription that you had directly with Netflix....

That is the clearest advice anybody has ever received from sky personnel.

no catch. there should be a link existing account option when you load it. so you dont have to cancel reregister etc

I have both Sky and Netflix.
Both are useless.
As far as Sky goes after the first week of every month every one in sky goes home and the replay button is pressed. I know the names of the animals in nature films ive seen them that often.
Netflix was such a disappointment. Pick a film. Look it up. Its there in name but cant view as Netflix havent payed the royalties.
Load of bollix both of them. Dont waste your money.

We have the 4 account Netflix package (4 different devices at once)
Also got sky q with multiroom
Does this mean we can cancel the Netflix subscription and still get to view it on upto 4 different devices with current sky subscription?Or only get to view it through sky app and extra sky q mini box?

You need to add Ultimate TV to your Sky subscription (currently £5 I think) and you should also be getting UHD free as you have M/S...so, if you do that then yes, you pay Sky £5 and not Netflix the £12......

Make sure they added UHD free with you M/S sub with Sky and then if you have Ultimate TV then, yes, 4 screens and the 4K content...

So my Netflix is used my people across the south of England, will that be an issue if I link it to my Sky Q box?

No because it is still effectively a Netflix account, it's not linked to your Sky Q box, it's just a different payment method, you can still use Netflix in the traditional way on other devices.....does that make sense?

Just realised I got my Netflix with Sky a year ago now. I upgraded to Sky Q on 30th Dec 2019. I’ve never mastered the remote control though but the Netflix works fine.

If you have sky Q and all the channels is Netflix free or do you get a cheaper subscription ?

If you look at my post above mate it will explain it.....depends on your current Netflix sub and what added packages you have on your Sky sub....

So for example, if you have HD and UHD on your Sky sub and you are paying £11.99 for your Netflix then you will get that same sub for a fiver...

You got me a little on that one mate, I am not working today, back in on Sunday but will defo ask one of my techy mates...I do know that some people have an issue with Netflix 'juddering' and there is a setting for that....leave that one with me, I will def come back to you!

Something has just come to mind, what model is your Q box?? It is quite possible, if you have had it a while, that you may have one of the initial 1TB hd boxes....if so then it can't handle UHD via the Q box.....that's off the top of my head!

I'm currently on a rolling monthly contract and paying around £75 a month for the TV (I'm with Talk Talk for Internet).

I don't have the cinema/movies, so the £75 is for the Sky Sports and Entertainment package.

I'm on the Sky HD box, so not Sky Q. I didn't upgrade to Sky Q as I use Magic Eye and apparently, Sky Q doesn't work with Magic Eye.

Am I better off upgrading to the Sky Q and having 2 boxes, so I can watch the TV in the bedroom? Do you think that would still be cheaper than my current rolling contract?

Am not on the TV side now BUT...I think the pricing currently would be £50 for Signature (was Entertainment) and Sport add on £10 for multiroom and you should get a free upgrade to Sky Q and your free first mini box....you would have a one off payment of £20 to go into contract for 18 months but the money you will save far exceed that....

But also switched to sky signature package which saves £1.50 a month and is all the same as I previously had
So effectively only paying £3.50 for Netflix premium now
With the added bonus of Netflix linked to my sky home page now
