Lenny Johnrose's first 2021 MND update
He's just reduced me to tears again has this brave man. I'm in awe of him and my respect for him just grows and grows.
He's taken to social media today to write: "My mouth is becoming increasingly full of saliva (not nice) which is further impacting on my voice. My family have said that at least they can get a word in. My sense of taste has gone (Covid???) which makes eating sprouts somewhat more bareable.
"On the downside, my throat feels as though someone is trying to strangle me (Nade has assured me that it isn't her). I must admit that it is a tad unpleasant! Not to worry, there's still the Spring Ball to look forward to.

He really is an inspiring, brave and brilliant human being. I think we can all learn something from him, when we moan about trivial things. I’ve raised money for MND in the past with my running and will be looking to do the same this year as well as the COTS charity in BurnleyClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 2:33 pmHe's just reduced me to tears again has this brave man. What a legend Lenny is. How anyone can have such a fantastic sense of humour whilst suffering like he is , it's just beyond me. Keep it going Lenny, what a inspiration you are !

Re: Lenny Johnrose's first 2021 MND update
I found out about Lenny's diagnosis while I was in Athens in August 2018, that's when he announced it. That night I sat with my mate Alan for the game and he'd had his diagnosis just about four months. It will be a year a week on Sunday since he passed away and so MND is more in my mind right now. Then I read this from one of the most inspirational of people. I don't know Lenny, I spoke to him once, but he really is an incredible person.

Just finished reading Lennie Johnrose's book. I can recommend it to all Clarets and football fans in general. The first part of the book deals with his football career with the tail end relating his tussles with MND. The guy is an inspiration and retains a sense of humour despite all that has been thrown at him.

Reading his book at the moment (fantastic read, may I add) and he comes across as one of the most genuinely lovely people. The way he has maintained his spirit and outlook in the face of such adversity is incredible. A fantastic human.

Always liked Lenny when he was a player, but seeing how he is managing this terrible illness shows he should be admired for more than kicking a ball around. An absolute inspiration.
God bless you Lenny.
