Hope JBG gets through this unscathed and has a good run without injury.

Well it's 2.16 and the teams are still not on the Burnley FC official site. Thought we would have bells and whistles by now!

With United next week this lineup is a clear message from the new Chairman, a message many of us have been waiting years for. No way would Dyche have picked this lineup a year ago in the same circumstances.

We can use 5 subs if required, be a shock if we did tho. We usually struggle making 3!

It will be nice to win the cup!

Tarkowski being cup-tied is also a sign of an effort to bridge the gap between player and club, towards a new contract.

Up the Clarets

Strong lineup but not sure what else could have done

With Norris starting, assuming BPF is one of the positive cases??

Can only assume Vydra isn't 100% or Dyche hopes Wood/Barnes can bag helping confidence. Dunne/Long/Westwood/Brownhill Covid related? Good side anyway here's hoping for a strong performance AND no injuries!!

Re Madge -

I completely fail to understand why anyone is complaining about pictures of Madge. She is fun. She has been the mascot of the matchday thread for years, ever since HolyCustard found her in a shoe box in his cupboard under the stairs.

Could someone explain what there is to complain about?

22 centre back signed in November after being released by Chelsea at the end of 2019/20 season.

Some familiar names in the Franchise line up:

Dean Lewington 36 years old and 670 league starts for MK club plus 44 in the FA Cup, some going that.

Richard Keogh, 34 now, so often our twelfth man, and Cameron Jerome who banged a few in for Norwich in his day but is also 34.

Their No 10 Scott Fraser might be one to watch, 7 goals whilst billed as a midfielder.

Franchise beat Eastleigh on pens and squeezed past National League strugglers Barnet 1 - 0 in Round 2

With United next week this lineup is a clear message from the new Chairman, a message many of us have been waiting years for. No way would Dyche have picked this lineup a year ago in the same circumstances.
To compare and contrast today's starting XI, with a year ago in the Peterborough tie, here are the respective line-up's.

Today- Norris, Bardsley, Tarkowski, Mee, Pieters, Gudmundsson, Cork, Stephens, Brady, Wood, Barnes.

Peterborough- Hart, Lowton, Tarks, Long, Pieters, Lennon, Hendrick, Cork, JBG, Wood, Jay Rod.

So apart from Ben Mee starting not hugely different that I can see.

We won the Peterborough tie comfortably, and with that XI we should win comfortably today.

Last season Dyche made eight changes from the Peterborough game compared to the team that had played in the previous league game. Only Tarkowski, Cork and Wood remained.

Let it lie chaps - hug and make up!

Anyway just had a few quid on a 5-0 win at 40-1. Might as well go for the biggie and hopefully cash out values will be good at some point - Norris do your stuff!

I didn't expect anything at all, myself and another poster were pointing out that the club website normally displays the team news around 2pm. At 2.20pm the site was still saying that they had no team news.

You then posted that team news was available on twitter.

If the club site had been updated then none of the above would have taken place. It was the fact that you called me an idiot for not knowing that I could access twitter without having an account.
Anyway apology accepted, lets hope we are in the draw for round 4.

If Barnes and Wood are going to be our first choice strike force, at least in the short term, then absolutely why not start both and give them a chance to notch a goal or two, and as Jay's still side-lined who else are we supposed to play up front.
