Started fine and created a million chances but the two up top were woeful. Progressively got worse. The kids added a bit of desire when they came on but that was horrible to watch. Awful performance against a truly abject side. Job done though.

Full credit to Will Norris, Joel Mumbongo, Anthony Glennon, and Josh Benson. They can come away from that game very pleased with their work.

Norris - 7 had very little to do in 120 minutes but did the business in the shootout
Bardo - 6 you could tell he hadn’t played in a while but not a bad performance
Tarky - 5 terrible miss and his attempted dribbles out of defence have me cringing
Mee - 7 standard Ben performance
Pieters - 6 tried to overlap but struggled at times to get back
Brady - 7 there is quality there but his deliveries, equaliser apart, weren’t the greatest balls in. Good shift though by him
Stephens - 5 Slow and laboured and won’t be splitting the Westy/JB partnership anytime soon
Cork - 7 thought he did pretty well so not going to criticise after the amount of time he has missed. Nice to have him back
JBG - 6 slightly underperformed but again after a stretch out he did ok
Wood - 3 simply needs dropping. If anybody scores him more than 3 I want some of what you’re drinking
Barnes - 4 should have scored at least 2 and isn’t the player of 18 months ago. His time at Burnley is coming to a end

Benson - 7 bright and lively. Showed well for the ball and has a bit about him
Vydra - 6 scored a decent goal, should have scored in ET, but huffed and puffed a lot. A run in the 1st 11 will do him no harm though
Mumbongo - 6 still very raw but quite pacy and robust. Caused more problems to the MK defence in the time he was on than Wood & Barnes combined
Glennon - 7 very impressed with this cameo appearance. Looked comfortable and a decent left peg
Lowton - 5 not a right winger! Really good penalty though

I can't disagree with any low ratings for the two up front but otherwise I thought we were very average for an hour after dominating for half an hour. I thought Brady always looked the most likely and I've rated him higher because of that. Also Norris who did absolutely nothing wrong and proved to be the match winner with two penalty saves. Extra points too for the three young lads who all gave us something. I thought Glenno did really well down the left in a more advance position given he's a full back, and Mumbongo's pace worried them.

But through, that's what I wanted more than anything else and some of those players - JBG, Bardsley, Cork, Stephens - have got some minutes.

Some ridiculously low marks for Stephens. 3s and 4s?

Two good saves from Norris and he looked pretty good but my MOM was for Dale Stephens for being the most consistent over 120 minutes. Not saying it was special but better than we have seen from him in his limited appearances.

Stephens did a couple of things very well but he was overrun and outrun by a L1 midfield. I hope he is still getting up to speed rather than that being a fair reflection of his mobility. Wood needs a rest. Good to have Cork back and Mumbungo made an impact. Congrats to Will Norris!

I didn't think we were that bad. Goal aside, Norris had 1 save to make and we should have scored at least 5. Just some inconsistent passing and wayward finishing but we were easily the better team
