Minute's silence tonight ahead of the game to remember all those Clarets who passed away in 2020
I know we won't be there but I hope you will join me in standing at home ahead of kick off.

Just read through the list and no time is ever right, however there are some young people listed evidently taken way too soon.
RIP all fellow clarets.

Is it me or does there seem to be a lot more names in them at list this year?
Suppose that’s a sign of what 2020 was like.
RIP

Done through the club, cut off was 2nd Jan and should have been held on 3rd for the Fulham game.

Although exiled in Kent the club is honouring both my dad and brother on the list - it makes me realise that for all the moaning and groaning that goes on Burnley Football Club is a very unique abs special club - one club, one team, one community !! This is Burnley !!

It did seem a long list tonight, a humbling experience and a few on there that I knew too, Andy Warn of Wilkinson Cameras being my main focal point, he was only 41 and his funeral on 5 February seems like such a long time ago, and Bob Nuttall who's funeral was in lockdown and what seemed like the whole of Barrowford applauding has his cortege passed through the village. 2020 will be a year to forget for sure, rest in peace Clarets.

RIP all fellow clarets.
Last year someone on here pointed out that there were no former players on the list for 2019 but there are six on there this year who played inthe first team - Peter Hampton, Brian Pilkington, Fred Smith, John Talbut, Tony Waiters and Peter Whittingham - and I've just spotted Tony Morrin who played i the reserves.
When we launched this back in January 2013 it came from an idea that I put forward having seen Southampton do it at a televised game. It was when Lee Hoos came in that we got the all clear to do it but I got a lot of stick on the message board for doing it. I still think it's the right thing to do and every year there are a number of people on there that I know.
There was just one on there this year that I wasn't aware of and that was Pam Swaine. She was 80 and was doing all the home and away games until not that long ago when she fell ill. Always travelled with the supporters club and went on the trips to Ireland for pre-season too.

I think it is a very fitting way to remember those who are a part of our club that are no longer with us. Only 1 name on there that I knew and I felt myself welling up as I observed the minute of reflection and we are just approaching 1 year since I got a text from Tony to inform me that Alan Beecroft had lost his fight against MND. RIP to Beeky and to all other members of the Claret family who sadly left us in 2020.

It's an excellent, if implicitly very sad initiative and like everyone else I was amazed at how long the list was this year and also at some of the names I recognised. It's a very fitting way for us all to pause and remember those fellow Clarets who loved the club just like we do and who now won't see another game. There's thousands and thousands gone before us down the years and there's thousands and thousands will come after us as our time on The Turf is very transient, but we'll hand over the batton to be carried on when the time comes and we become a part of the club's history. I was very pleased to see Sky highlighted it last night.

Hi Tony.
Ronnie STUTTARD and his wife Irene had both been both members of Colne Cricket Club (until the last couple of years)
To be honest I did not know they had both died until I saw Ronnie's name on the list.
When I checked Pendle Obituaries it confirmed that Ronnie had died aged 92 on 14th. December 2020 in the Marsden Grange Nursing Home and his wife Irene had died at an earlier date.
I thought it was strange that someone from Colne would have a German name like Stuttgart.

Mick passed away last May after a short battle with cancer. He was just 70. We do try to publicise the in memoriam as much as we can so people can send in the names. Sadly there are always some who are not included.
Didn't know Terry but Mick was a top bloke.

Playing 6 a side at the Turf gym. He gave 3 free kicks in quick succession to the opposition. I asked him if he was only looking one way. No bad language, no previous in the game and I got a straight red from him. To be fair we had been pain in the arses for a couple of weeks prior to this including a couple of set tos. I think it accumulated and my comment was the straw that broke the camels back.
