Not in Scotland, but before Christmas loads of boozers selling take away ale in Altrincham town centre and folk treating the pedestrian area like a giant ale garden.

Who would want to drink alcohol outdoors in freezing cold January? Can’t think this would be too onerous on us down here in England if Boris follows suit. Apart from perhaps the unfortunate people who are living rough on the streets.

A Nip of Whiskey on a walk in this weather or in your Coffee could be quite beneficial. I'm not condoning congregating btw.

Disagree. Those people who stand outside pubs to smoke are only there briefly then they are back inside to the warm bar and their waiting pint.
