Do any of you own any Whisky casks? I’ve just been reading an article suggesting great returns on purchasing shares in barrelled whiskys

A very fashionable investment right now.
Don't follow the crowd - you won't make any money.
To make a return on investments you need to have something rare. Whiskey is now being touted as an investment which means the people who are going to make the money are those who are doing the touting/producing.

Buy it if you like the whiskey and/or can afford to make zero return on said investment.

Yes an just remember the old adage of "if it sounds to good to be true it probably is".

Bear in mind that there are lots of additional costs as well as the original purchase. Storage costs, bottling, significant taxes and duty when it's bottled, etc

** I ought to add a qualifier:
I advised a friend against buying lots and lots of bitcoin about a decade ago. They went ahead and bought lots and lots. I bought none.
It's a risk. Nobody can accurately predict the future all of the time.
