Quality yet again and won us the penalty. Will start to bang them in with more game time too.
Praying he stays this window and gets the minutes he thoroughly deserves.
Well played Matej

He has looked sharp and certainly provides something different.

I find him a bit frustrating. I get that you need game time but he’s just always a nearly man. Nearly gets it under control under pressure, nearly gets played through, nearly finishes.

That's down to game time its that simple. You don't become top goalscorer in the championship if you're useless in front of goal.
I love how dedicated he is and chases "lost" causes all the time

Nah he’s just done it again. Played in , defender nicks it. I’m with Shaun now.

So pleased Vydra has had a good opportunity today. He has certainly been patient and deserved more time on the pitch. Pleased for him.

I like Vydra and I'm pleased he got game time today. He looked really sharp and caused them problems and they're are different problems to the ones we traditionally pose, but I just want him to finish some of his chances because as mentioned above he's just such a "nearly" guy.

Did well today, movement caused them all sorts of problems. I don’t think he should be starting yet though. Missed some chances. Jay on the other hand...

I do think he will do that, the more opportunities he gets. We do seem to play better football with him and Jay on the pitch.

Vydra was good today.
He is a quality player.
I am not his biggest fan or his worst detractor.
He is instinctive and creates chances (often of his own making by his press)
He is poor at positional marking whilst we are not in possession which is not in keeping with our game plan.
Him and Jay though together reminded me at times today of the good times when we used to play exciting attacking football.

Really positive that today's front two did so well. Puts some pressure on Wood and Barnes which is no bad thing. Our improvement since the start of the season has been vast.

Played very well and deserved a goal. Made some good runs and looked sharp. Very wasteful in front of goal unfortunately but it didn’t cost us.

Ian Moore, but cost more. Burnley fans love him because he runs a lot. A half decent striker would have had at least 2 goals with the same chances he had.

I get those people who say he's too wasteful, but his pace and movement creates so much space for others. Forces the opposition back 4 a bit deeper as well.

Theres talent there, needs a run of games...but I get that Barnes and Wood may offer more defensively.

Well hopefully after that performance the “All we are saying is give Vydra a chance” brigade will give us all a break. He offered very little against Fulham reserves tbh. He’s had (another) chance, he’s just not premiership. He’s not a bad player but offers us little. Benchwarmer at best and we can’t afford those. Good luck and goodbye Vydra (hopefully).

Thought Vydra showed today why Dyche has him as fourth choice striker, was offside most of the time, and had three runs in on goal and messed two up before gaining a penalty.maybe it’s down to gametime but that obviously didn’t affect Jay Rod who should definately be starting in place of Barnes.

Grumps - good comparison and not sure of your age but going back a bit further he reminds me of Liam Robinson.

The pitch didn’t do him any favours today. A few times he either left the ball behind him or his touch was heavy. Not ideal for these guys who are used to playing on pitches like carpets.

I tend to agree, we do look more of a "footballing" side when Vydra (and Jay) are on, but Vyds has to not only play well, but find the net when he gets his chance. Today, once again he looked really good, but he didn't score despite 3 or 4 excellent opportunities and it's also very hard to judge against what was clearly a poor Fulham second XI.

You must have been watching a different game fella. His movement dragged defenders all over the shop in turn making room for Jay to do his stuff. Don't let your agenda against Vyds stop you from seeing what is happening

The ball was running very slow on that pitch if you watch it again. Vydra couldn't bring it with him quick enough.
But what a team performance. Forwards having a partnership. Midfield always play better when these 2 play up top.
Must be a while since we won 3-0 away from home?

I thought he had a good game today but he is just not clinical enough for me. I think Wood and Barnes would have loved to play against that Fulham defence today; they really were very poor at the back. That's why you can't just compare our result today to Wood/Barnes playing against the likes of Man U and Liverpool.

He did well with his first touch to get the pen but should have done much better particularly with the chance on his right foot first half, didn't get the required placement or power.
Gave the woeful Hector plenty to think about and contributed to a really good display, has to be more clinical to get the run of starts he wants when given his opportunity.

Some great runs
1 ruled out
Involved in 2 goals
Probably only a bit of match sharpness off getting on the scoresheet himself.
Not an ideal pitch for someone who likes and thrives with the ball on the deck, but did very well

For the same people who defend Wood and Barnes when they don't score saying the offer more than just goals then I think you need to admit that Vydra ALSO offers a lot more than just goals. Ridiculous to think otherwise. Jay must love playing alongside him as he constantly moves and drags defenders around

Vydra simply isn’t a regular Premier League goalscorer, he needs far too many chances. I suspect Championship or so is more his level. Wood and JR are our best options. We need a younger striker to challenge the more established.
