Astonishingly poor at the basics of controlling a ball and passing it 10 yards.

Dreadful at the minute. Shouldn't even be on the pitch. He offers absolutely zilch

You hope that someone playing bad gets better in the second half, but he has had 5 shocking games in a row. Get Vydra on

Confidence is shot and with that goes any meaningful contribution. Just filling a place and going through the motions.

he is plummeting to new depths currently - it is embarrassing. But to be fair you could, apart from Pope, make a case for any of them to be hooked at half time.

Five in a row? You certainly must have missed Liverpool then.

The decline this season has really surprised me, still confident he will find his form eventually but probably needs a run out of the side

Is there not a stat that he has wasted more goal scoring chances than any other player in the league this reason? Supply is not the primary issue around why Wood isn’t scoring this season

Unless you really have to you dont drop your best goalscoarer.
While most would have dropped him or at least brought him off. Yet again Dyche knows best and totally vindicated in backing his main striker.

Pretty obvious he is a confidence man. You can see that from his body language. That will boost his confidence. He is our best scorer.

Yeah he’s our best finisher followed by Jay, hopefully this kick starts his season and he still hits double figures

1 goal in 7 for him? Does that make him the best thing since sliced bread? Hardly prolific nor surprising that he scored considering the amount of minutes he gets. For a striker that's dreadful no matter what tinted specs you have on

Lol. I just love these type of threads.
Cork and Vyds both made a big difference when they came on to give Wood more space and service.

On the other hand, he has scored double figures in every season at this level for us - three in a row.
Name another striker that has done that for us.

Impossible as they've had nowhere near the game time. I guarantee both Jay and Vyds would if they started every game though. Stupid stats like the one you've given aren't at all relevant to current form and DO NOT take minutes on the pitch into consideration.

Class finish.
McNeil coming back into form will make a big difference in Wood's game. Our game in general for that matter.

Simply not true.
Jay has played 192 premier league games over 8 seasons at this level. He has managed it once.
Wood has done it three times in 123 games.

Agreed. McNeil has looked much better after a break. Albeit enforced.

He’s been terribly short of form and low on confidence but it’s a really good header for the third.
Suddenly we have 4 strikers that are looking good again.

Of course it's true as Jay wasn't playing for us then. Also Jay has had some terrible injuries. Yet Jay has still scored more Premier league goals than Wood.
Also 10 goals in 38 games is not prolific in any sense but if that makes you feel good then so be it

Thats almost 1 in 4 for a side that doesn't score a lot.
Honestly the number of people who stag off Wood and **** off over Vydra winning a pen is unbelievable.
Great run from vydra for the 3rd but after that its all McNeil and Wood. More of that and he will get more unlucky with that great shot too.
