Thought I would kick off the next one because the January transfer window has gone like the last six.......No players in to add to the starting xl again, so we move on to the next window.

Not helped by the end of lockdown and the opening up of the country, resulting in fierce competition for players

What if that's our valuation of the player? Should we pay over the odds? I'd love to negotiate a house sale with some of you.

With Bardsley, Cork and Pieters signing new deals until 2030 we seem in a good position.

Go on then i'll play along. What about Nat Phillips at Liverpool to replace Tarky? Had a good game yesterday and with them likely to strengthen they may be willing to let him go for a reasonable fee.

It always conveniently gets lost when the window opens...

Desperation to find a CH to replace Tarks with less cash than we would have had compared to last summer plus getting screwed over to try and buy Collins. The club issuing lots of noises about incomings only to find about a month after the window opens we are considering making our first offer with then another underwhelming bid for Collins a couple of weeks later which will get blown off.
We will wait another week before increasing our offer by another 50p which will again be blown off. The club then moans about how difficult the summer window always is. The club makes noises about a third bid for Collins but nothing materialises for another week. Then another club makes an offer which is accepted immediately and he signs 24 hours later and we miss out. The club says they are trying hard to bring in the right players that fit our framework.
We then sign a 5th goalkeeper from a 2nd division club. The club issues a statement about our scouting of European players not yet developed. Burnley buy a dozen zimmer frames for some of our players to help them collect their pensions. Burnley offer Dale Stephens a 10 year deal. We finally buy another workhouse that has no pace or creativity as a right winger even though he's not a winger because he fits the framework. We get relegated at the end of the year.

That's pretty much spot on. It's depressing.
Spending thousands over the years to end up with no excitement on deadline days which is an exciting day for the majority of football fans

Trouble is that is exactly the world Burnley FC resides in. Everything is just a sickening, depressing and repeated load of old nonsense that is foisted upon the fans every time. This window is an absolute joke and to pretend otherwise is ridiculous. I'm sick of it so I have decided I'm not going to travel anywhere to watch us after Covid is gone to watch the turgid, boring tripe we serve up most weeks. That includes the Turf until radical changes are made.

First call, Burnley looking to sign Sri Lankan international right back Reef Peries in the Summer.
A film crew is all set to follow his progress through the Academy in a documentary called Boot Dreams ( echoing the critically acclaimed documentary Hoop Dreams - which is quality viewing for anyone who hasn't seen it).
This will focus a lot of attention on AiScout and its path to professional football trials, which is a company that ALK Capital own less than half of one per cent in.
This will no doubt please his dad Darren Peries ( the majority shareholder of AiScout ) and Ryan Anthony Peries the Sri Lankan international midfielder.

So easily pleased and a glutton for punishment. Enjoy watching continued tripe, me I'm saving my money and if more and more do the same the club will have even less money, that'll help as you will get even more tripe to watch no doubt. Perhaps the tripe served up will be further down the divisions and we can rejoice over Leyton Orient again.

Sell Tarkowski and Mcneil in the summer for Β£50M, use Β£50M to pay towards the loan against the club and replace with John and Albert from AIScout clips.

Tarky leaves. No other changes to the playing squad.
Sean Dyche and Ian Woan leave. To be replaced by Bob Bradley with Clint Dempsey as his Senior Vice President of Soccer Talent.

At least I'm not a brain dead zombie with the intellect of a wooden sheep on drugs. Try putting forward a cogent response as to why you think , that is if you can think why you believe our transfer window has been a wonderful success and not absolutely pathetic. We have failed totally to improve the squad and have failed totally to protect the squad if any injury to Tarks , Mee or McNeil wouldn't completely put us in the s**t. Most of the rival relegation teams have strengthened but we have done nothing. So go on please treat us all to your glorious insight as to why there is nothing to be concerned about.

Wow... the irony of you mentioning drugs, when all of your posts suggest you need to be on some to calm the **** down!
Anyway, the first priority, it would appear, was to get the contracts extended of the players Dyche wanted to keep. We've largely done that, so we aren't in a position that we were in at the start of project re-start.
Now, sure, we would all have liked a new signing or two, but such is life. I did post on one of the takeover threads that some people were going to have a real feeling of anti climax when the new owners came in and so it has proved.
Am l disappointed? Sure. Will it keep me awake at night? No, because I refuse to let things I'm not privy to at Burnley Football Club dominate my life. Things are tough enough for everyone right now, without getting all emotional about something I can do sod all to affect.
However, when the day comes that we're allowed back into stadiums, l'll be there giving the team my full support rather than throwing my toys out of the pram because we didn't sign someone this window.
Get over yourself!

Nonsense. The Gaffer has had very little to do with our transfer business in the last four windows. He advocated for new contracts to be given to players and he was ignored. That is the level of influence that he has had on things, he hasn't been allowed to determine which players he keeps let alone which players we pursue as signings.
I think the only times he has had a say is when he stood up and fought for Bardsley to be given a new contract, when we signed Brownhill ( who he was publicly very enthusiastic about ) and possibly late in the windows after everything had gone tits up and we needed some last gasp better than nothing options.
Our recruitment performance and more importantly our overall recruitment strategy has undertaken a pronounced downward trend over the course of the last four windows. Whether that was Mike Garlick suddenly acting like a one man band or whether it was down to the influence of our new Technical Director is anyone's guess.
My guess is on the latter. Mike Rigg was brought in to take the recruitment weight off the shoulders of Sean and oversee that part of our business ( along with initiating strategies to move the clubs forward and tie together all areas of the club into a unified vision ). When you consider the devastating impact he has had on each and every clubs that he has previously worked for the downturn in our recruitment and strategic planning was inevitable.
Sean talks about recruitment because he is the one in the hot seat during interviews before and after every single match, but that doesn't mean he is playing a major role in recruitment. In fact he has repeatedly pointed out that over the last few windows he was being less and less involved in that side of things.
Our transfer problems are down to a Technical Director with the worst performance record in the history of the profession and the sub standard additions he has made to our recruitment personnel. His ineptitude has led to a stagnating or deteriorating first team and the signing of a small number of youth team additions with league one development potential.
If you are looking for the clown in the Circus that we have become it isn't Sean Dyche.

Around in the 80's ? I was around in the 60's for your information. I started supporting Burnley at the age of 5 and I'm now past retirement even though I wasn't born there or even lived there. I go to the Turf as often as I can even though I live very many miles away. I also travel across the country to see them as much as possible. I buy lots of memorabilia and stuff from the club shop and other places online. I have taken the decision not to do any more of this until the club treats us with dignity and respect, keeps its promises and makes active improvements to the squad.

It would be really something if you could actually come up with some ideas or suggestions to support your opinion. To rely on just the Dyche extending contracts doesn't cut it. The players in question aren't or won't be good enough in the following season. Long ? Is just not good enough and without getting in a replacement in this last window and with Tarks going he could be our 1st choice alongside Mee, hilarious. Pieters, aging, getting slower and not providing competition for Taylor. Bardsley, aging, getting slower and yet still no replacement. JBG not really a winger good enough to cover McNeill. The option of Brady is not a good idea, no product and predictable. Stlll a right winger short in the squad.
Dyche said he needed a bigger squad, better quality and wanted to stretch the finances, well none of these happened. We now face a prospect of the same aging squad next season, so replacements seem unlikely yet not only has the squad not been improved there are still positions where we need far better players and we haven't done so for more than 1 window. We still face the prospect of playing players out of position. Little or no creativity in evidence. Aging strikers. Brady and JBG injury prone, Brownhill not a winger.
Stephens, will we keep him on next season. probably as can't afford a replacement.
The squad next year will be the same size, the same players and minus Tarks. Possibilities of Pope and McNeill having bids for them made. Will we get Collins and even if we did would he be good enough to replace Tarks immediately, probably not.
Dyche said recently he was in no rush to extend his own contract, he also said he would wait and see how the new owners would be. He still made a remark about us not affording a bag of chips when compared to Aston Villa spend of Β£220m. Dyche will have his own perception of how much money will be available in the summer and will also have worked out his ideas on how much support he got in this window and that the new owners will have had long enough to know how the club operates. The players whose contracts that were extended in this window seemed more a move in desperation to keep what we have rather than bring in improvements.
If a managerial vacancy comes up in the summer at Palace, Newcastle or Brighton assuming they all remain in the PL he must surely be tempted. I think he knows he has taken us as far as he can with the resources he has and faced with the same aging squad, little chance of better quality players, Tarks going, no support in this window. It could be a summer of great turmoil.

Jeez, pass me the razor blades!
FWIW, I fully expect Tarkowski to leave in the summer, but assuming he does, do you really expect us to not bother getting in a replacement? Seriously?
If I'm reading your irrational rantings correctly, then you seem to be saying that you're expecting no new signings. If that's the case, then I think youβll be pleasantly surprised!
Or will you? You seem to be one of those posters who revels in being negative, despite our continued PL status.

To be fair Fidel I donβt see what La liga posted as rantings. He has posted his concerns that a large majority of Burnley fans share.
He is not wrong in what he is saying the squad is ageing and we do not just need squad numbers we actually need players that will improve the starting eleven.
This summer is a big summer in regards to Dyche, he either gets backed or he walks away in 12 months time it is as simple as that. He is not going to stay at this club and expect to pull of miracles every season when he could go to Newcastle or Palace and have between 30-50m to spend every season.
I said it on another thread the next 12 months will dictate the future of this club either for better or worse. Letβs just hope it is the former.
I also donβt think it is fair on you for shaming La Liga when he is merely posting some popular concerns.
