Re: Tindall gone at Bournemouth
6th place in the championship and after a big change in playing personnel last summer, that comes across as a harsh sacking.

Re: Tindall gone at Bournemouth
Very similar to us sacking Laws when we did.
He’d taken us down.
Obviously not up to the job.
Decision to appoint that looked weird to the outside.
Kicking around the play off places.
Just started to look like we were losing touch with the promotion race.
Does Tindall going look so harsh in that context?

Re: Tindall gone at Bournemouth
Why do teams always sack their managers before playing us?
Knowing our luck, we'll lose to Chelsea last weekend because Tuchel got them organised, and then Bournmouth next week because Frank came in and gave them a boost!

Re: Tindall gone at Bournemouth
Is it any coincidence that Johnathan Woodgate joined as a first team coach, in the last couple of weeks. Surely they can’t be stupid enough to give Woodgate the job, or could they?

Re: Tindall gone at Bournemouth
4 defeats on the bounce and, I would imagine, a lot of financial pressure to get back up straight away.
Was a strange appointment though; they'd been on a downer for 18 months before they got relegated so you'd think a fresh voice would be needed to arrest the decline with, basically, a group of players good enough to survive in the Prem once they learned how to defend.

To be "Frank" It does make you wonder if they already have someone lined up.

Lampard hardly set the world alight when he was at Derby. Would never have got near the Chelsea job if he hadn't been such a great player for them. Hardly set the world alight there either with the quality of player he had available to him

Lampard very much like Howe, likes to play good football, likes to play the kids, likes to spend money. Seems like a perfect job for him

Re: Tindall gone at Bournemouth
They'd fallen of a cliff lately, after a very promising start to the season.
They looked in real danger of losing touch with the play offs, when only 2 months ago they looked a good bet for automatic promotion.
I can see why they sacked him, but he surely deserved a little more time to try and sort it out himself.
Every time something like this happens I give thanks to the long term vision of our own custodians. They may not have a pot to **** in, but they do know how to run a club.

Re: Tindall gone at Bournemouth
Why did they ever give Tindall the job?
He and Eddie worked together for 10 years or whatever, he was hardly going to have some bold new plans and strategies to turn them around was he?!

Re: Tindall gone at Bournemouth
We have no idea what is going on at the club. Internal politics, have the players given up on him?
Still a strange decision after the decent start they had but nothing shocks in football any more, unless we beat Citeh tonight.

Re: Tindall gone at Bournemouth
I'd say it does look harsh in that context - Laws had pretty much a year with us - appointed in January, sacked at the end of December. Compared to 6 months for Tindall there's a massive difference. He's not had chance to prove himself. We 100% knew what Laws was about having had a whole year of him and while you might argue that Tindall has been there for years, not as a number 1 he hasn't.claret wizard wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 8:47 amVery similar to us sacking Laws when we did.

However, maybe there's something that they've seen that we're not privy to but on the face of it, looks very harsh.

Re: Tindall gone at Bournemouth
We lost to Chelsea because too many players didnt turn up that day.
We will be Bournemouth he probably kicked off because the hierarchy sold his best player.Eddie will be invited back to get them promoted

I'm not sure how much input he had to what they spent over the summer. Prior to that he did a very decent job under the embargo.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 11:19 amLampard very much like Howe, likes to play good football, likes to play the kids, likes to spend money. Re: Tindall gone at Bournemouth
As I said, he'd been there for years but the key point is not as number one. Different ball game when you're number one and steering the ship compared to supporting the boss.claret wizard wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 6:28 pmThey’ve had 10 years of him though, just seemed a weird appointment. If they'd made the decision to give him the reins I'm not sure why they wouldn't give him a proper go. Should've just gone for someone else in the summer if they weren't willing to do that I reckon.
I'd agree, though, that looking at it now it does seem like a weird appointment - if they didn't want him in the first place should've for rid when they had the chance.
