Eden Hazard stuck in a vicious cycle of injuries

Hazard is out injured again and the Belgian team doctor is very concerned that Hazard is stuck in a cycle that's difficult to break out of.
I always wondered if Hazard would be good enough to step up and replace Ronaldo/Bale etc and I'll admit it's been interesting to watch him struggle for form etc, but I wouldn't wish this on any player, being stuck in a cycle of injuries as its quite possibly soul destroying.

That's a real shame for him, he certainly looked the real deal a couple of times on the Turf. Hope he doesn't end up like our own Belgian maestro.

No sympathy whatsoever. Doesn’t look after himself in a way an athlete should.

Never be the same player again playing in bad leagues

I wonder if he’d be interested in getting his form back on loan here. What’s he like as a second full back in 4-4-2 playing wide left?

Always thought he was a quality player but pretty soft when pressured.

Has he got the JBG virus where you pick up injury after injury?

"Has he got the JBG virus where you pick up injury after injury?"
Is that meant to be humorous?

I'll never understand people that ridicule athletes that get injuries - having a few in my time they're the worst periods ever, they don't want to be out injured!
It's genuinely soul destroying- now imagine working so hard to get back to fitness for something to go again on your next game back... sucks!

He's scheduled to return in 2/3 weeks according to ZZ, and there's also rumours of a return to Chelsea, I can't see it myself, but he's clearly not had the start he hoped for at Real.
It is a shame that such a class player has been plagued by niggling injuries after securing his dream move, and he'll obviously want to play as the Euro's are fast approaching.
It does make you wonder if the amount of football is starting to catch up on players now, and quality players such as Hazard will rarely be rested, so it's not surprising that sooner or later their bodies break down.

I take your point on having injuries being horrendous. I’ve had more than my fair share that have stopped me playing footy and cricket. However, I’m absolutely sure that if I could have had the amount of time off my job fully paid (handsomely I might add) despite the frustration of not playing id be happy enough with my family and friends knowing I’d never have to work a day in my life past 25

If you look at the state he was in when he joined Real Madrid, you’d think a bit differently. It’s never good seeing athletes struggle, but some put in a lot of work and still struggle. Hazard simply doesn't look after himself properly.

Just returned from injury and he's back out again.
I've seen an estimate of 4-6 weeks.
It's probably getting to the point where they should just write off this season for him and focus on getting him fit for next season instead.

He did some damage against us, when he played for Chelsea.
Good to watch, on form (except against Burnley).
I wish him a full recovery and successful comeback.

You seem to know a lot about his fitness regime? You worked with him?

In all fairness there are several pics around showing him to be looking a bit tubby.
As a fat lad, I'm an expert in looking tubby.

To be fair, it was widely reported he turned up to pre-season training at Real visibly overweight (not just unfit).
While injury cycles are undeniably unfortunate for a number of players, you surely as a professional need to ensure you're doing everything you can to help combat that.

I’m not no. But I’ve seen Hazard at his best and he looked far from it when he signed for Real Madrid. He’s a disgrace. Not only signing for Real Madrid but taking the 7 and replacing Ronaldo and then showing up like that. This at a club that would label him failure for even carrying on his Chelsea form. At least get yourself into a position where you can try to succeed.

Apparently Real Madrid will accept £20 million to get rid of him in January, or a loan with permanent deal in the summer.

I’d he’d carried on his Chelsea form, in la pigs he’d had been excellent. But he turned up with a belly and then got injured, never recovered since.
Awful for players to get repetitive injuries though, as JBG and Brady have had. JBG seems to have got through it, touch wood, and was excellent IMO on Saturday.

To be fair, he regularly turned up at Chelsea with a belly for pre season.
Just for whatever reason he's become injury prone in Spain

Does that really happy these days? I mean what constitutes a "belly"?

All that money that he’s earned in his career gone to his head maybe.

Perpetual problem for Madrid and Paris Is how to keep players eager. They give out such contracts that the only way is down and don’t seem to spend too long on the individual needs of their players to keep them motivated.

He's just had Fibula surgery, meaning he won't play again this season, after only playing 877mins.
Real Madrid are considering sending him out on loan for next season.
He's under contract until the end of the 23/24 season.
He's definitely their worst signing from English football since Woodgate.
For value for money he's probably their worst ever.
