Turf Moor improvements
Don’t get too excited though it’s just the entrance to the James Hargreaves hospitality

Re: Turf Moor improvements
Well that looks far better to me, I like the colour scheme.
Everything doesn’t have to be plastered in claret and blue.
Is that what they’ve decided to do with the spare big screen!?

Steve's back from the future and can confirm we're still in the Premier League for the 2021/22 season.

Fair enough tarting up the place.
Ben Wickes - would be interested to hear your views on the ALK Takeover thread, not seen you on it for a bit, has it panned out as expected for you ?
Hope to hear from you on the other thread.

Re: Turf Moor improvements
They should reclad the larger stands. I like the black/grey/silver look. It’s very 2020-21 rather than 1995. They should match the stands with the corners as it’d look class.

Re: Turf Moor improvements
Just had a look on the council website myself; its in for planning permission along with the James Hargreaves entrance improvements. It certainly looked no different when I went past yesterday

Re: Turf Moor improvements
you cannot help thinking that will date even quicker, and if it was all the same colour - you would get more "it's Burnley, it's grim" type noises - I will say the hotchpotch at the front has been poor for a long time and as well loved as the turf moor heroes boards are, they make it look worse - a uniform styling (with the heroes remaining) would be a lot better.Claretforever wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 5:36 pmThey should reclad the larger stands. some of this reminds me of how far we have come, but have yet still to go - Hull City have launched a formal complaint over Accrington Stanley's changing rooms, it wasn't that long ago we were in a similar position.

Re: Turf Moor improvements
Thursday 22nd September 2022 so would be the following season (unless next season gets extended)
Or as it’s a Thursday it’s a Europa League game meaning we have a successful cup run next year

Re: Turf Moor improvements
Having 6 months until the next match with crowds is a unique opportunity were they to ponder anything more substantial. Normally ground development needs at least one stand evacuating for a season, with the lost revenue that entails.
Saying that, it would be highly surprising if ALK get around to anything substantial, for cash flow reasons as well as needing time to assess reasons.

Re: Turf Moor improvements
I'm guessing it will be full of advertising to pay for it 95% of the time but nothing wrong with that, makes the area smarter.
EDIT: The screen that is.

Wonder if the new owners will resurrect the bread bin stand with a helicopter landing pad On top.
Re: Turf Moor improvements
I wonder if we will have a pre season tour of the USA when things are normal again. I'd be up for that bud.

Re: Turf Moor improvements
I personally think the black would look classy. You’d have to add a dash of claret and blue in there too. Maybe some sort of striping? The current cladding looks and is cheap. Needs must at the time I suppose.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 5:44 pmyou cannot help thinking that will date even quicker, and if it was all the same colour - you would get more "it's Burnley, it's grim" type noises - I will say the hotchpotch at the front has been poor for a long time and as well loved as the turf moor heroes boards are, they make it look worse - a uniform styling (with the heroes remaining) would be a lot better.

Re: Turf Moor improvements
The claret fence running from the 'next game' to the away entrance looks good a few months. Then the paint flakes and looks, we'll shabby for a while. Wonder how this will look with the black/grey

Re: Turf Moor improvements
I’d suggest they extend at the back of the JH stand out into the car park to make some form of bar/hospitality at ground level, but more importantly to extend the main function suite to be at “ box level” to make a more suitable/workable area for match hospitality instead of when they have an event it’s the full length of the pitch which leads to having to build a marquee.....

Re: Turf Moor improvements
The James Hargreaves stands hospitality is really poor, reminds me of an old working men’s club, I’ve been in worse though at other grounds tbf. Foods always been good though, Bob Lord hospitality is much better.

Why do we even need a matchday board? Nobody uses it to know what game's on next.

Re: Turf Moor improvements
Only ever had 3 course meals when I’ve been in, perhaps 5/6 times in the last 5/6 seasons, the directors box in the Bob lord was superb food, James Hargreaves stand usually beef dinner
I’d be more than happy with Pie & Peas, I’m not sure my hosts who have payed would be though
