LFC haven't put their team up but this report:

Liverpool U23s returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Burnley in a friendly encounter at the Academy on Friday afternoon.

Jack Bearne netted the only goal of the game inside the opening 10 minutes after fine approach play from Ben Woodburn.

"Burnley gave us a tough game, to be fair to them, and it was a great test for the boys," U23s boss Barry Lewtas told Liverpoolfc.com.

"They were tough and direct but we did well, and the boys knew we had been in a game when they came off the field.

"It was just what we needed and we gave some much-needed minutes to the likes of Morgan Boyes, Billy Koumetio, Jack Walls and Ben.

"It was great to get back to winning ways and I'm pleased for the boys."

Good to see Chris Woods getting a run out.

Ben Woodburn was going to be the next big thing 3 or 4 years ago but apart from the odd loan spell has found it hard to break through

I think 5 of ours could still play U18s.
This was what Steve Stone was talking about recently, giving these lads extra game time.

Really encouraging development from the U23’s. anyone think we’ll ever be able to watch them again?

He has recently gone back to Liverpool after Blackpool cut his loan short.

They have replaced him with a highly rated prospect from Everton called Simms. He was top scorer in the u23s I was told, so interested to see how he does. I know he came on for 20 minutes against Wigan and scored 2.
