They never disappoint. I hate Brighton just as much as Blackburn. A quote from a few of their holier than thou posters...

Jay 'not proved to be a racist' Rodriguez didn't come on and score, which was another plus.

I don’t let fans of other teams bother me. But I make an exception for Brighton. My experience of them in the championship (granted it was a minority) was exact what they profess to hate.

Racist, bullying, middle age losers.

They certainly think they are a cut above most of the teams around them. It will probably all go pear shakes for them as they have enormous debts and we will all be asked to drop money in their plastic fans plastic buckets. Think the only good thing is that their manager seems fairly level headed abs respectful.

Brighton away used to be a real laugh, the locals were always friendly.........as soon as they got their plastic ground and a bit of success that's disappeared, shame.

Brighton = Plastic ground middle of nowhere........

I dread the day “exciting times” means a new stadium for us.....

The very definition of a tin-pot club.

I used to really like Brighton in the early 2000s when they were managed by Steve Coppell and then Mark McGhee. Their Chairman was Dick Knight who fought and fought to keep their club going and to get them planning permission for their new stadium. They were a really likeable little club with some decent die hard fans.

Now they're just an absolutely bizarre bunch. The term "plastics" is over-used in football, but in their case, well, they define it.

I don't live far from Brighton and have to put up with them. 75% of their fans I know also support someone else. Ignore them.

Nah their owner is happy funding them, even with this debt of £200 million...

Unless he goes bankrupt or suffers serious illness, then it won't change anytime soon

Brighton fans are wankers. But the club itself improves it's players every season and gets stronger.Unlike Burnley who stand still hoping for 40 points every year.

I love their ‘everything down south is lovely and everything up north is awful’ attitude. Some of the **** holes I’ve visited, whilst travelling around the south coast, are far worse than many up here.

As with everywhere across the UK, there are some nice places and some that are far less appealing.

I’d guess that a lot of their traditional support are still decent and sensible. They just seem to have more than their share of ‘modern supporters’ (dick heads) after a rise up from their usual level in the leagues.

In the last five seasons Brighton have been at this level three times and have 40, 36 and 41 points. This is their fourth.

In the last five we have had 40, 54, 40 and 54. This is our fifth.

Currently just below them with a game in hand.

I always find Brighton to be a great away day but that's probably more down to it be it being such a vibrant area than the club itself. I can definitely see why some people view them as being a bit plastic

It’s ok to poke fun at other fans and take the p*ss out of them but sometimes I think that some on here really do believe all Brighton fans are as bad as this thread implies. There’s some plonkers at Brighton and some good people and everything in between. Just like anywhere else, including Burnley.
Just saying.

To be fair, a lot on here are talking first from first hand experiences. Their fans on there do represent a lot that I have encountered home and away. Bellends

I worked in Denmark for 9 months a few years ago. There was another project going on in the same town that had a few British contractors working on there. A few were from Brighton. Not one of us liked them. Arrogant, racist, arseholes that the Danes took a very big dislike to. I remember they had a pop at some of the Irish contractors and...well let’s say the Irish lot improved their facial features.

Amazingly this season is only the 8th, in their history, in the top tier of English football.
They have spent twice as many years in tiers 3 & 4 than in the top two divisions.
Talk about Johnny come lately.

They’re a non-entity club with loads of shiny new plastic fans.

They spout their self proclaimed liberal credentials at us in exactly the same way the old football “firms” boasted about their self proclaimed fighting credentials.

Quite from Brighton fan:
“ Burnley played some great football. Good passing, good imagination. If they had the money for a decent striker and midfielder they would be a tough side to beat.”

And another:
“ Vydra was everywhere how did have such stamina.

Solid and imaginative performance by Burnley, Burnley deserved all three points.”

They’re a horrible lot these Brighton fans aren’t they?

This is so right. They are still going on about him stamping on someone now, years after the event. Even in an age where you can watch the replay from more than the one angle that looked suspect - when the others clearly showed that he didn't.

Their fans know next to nothing about football. The more they talk, the worse they come across.

Now don't let facts get in the way cricketfield :) and it's interesting that they only have 1 PL victory over us to their name, and that was in an end-of-season kickabout. Yes they have improved this season, but just like us they will more than likely face a relegation battle in most seasons, and last season they required a post-lockdown run of form to keep them out of danger, so where all this entitlement culture has come from among their fan base baffles me, and yes I'm well aware that it's not all of their fans before people correct me on that point.
