Can't be bothered anymore
Its a harsh statement but, I cant anymore. I dont know if its the manager, players or the outgoing Chairman. I know its just football but this game we love doesn't half f**k with you mental wellbeing when its already f****d.

I stopped paying on cup games a while ago under Dyche, I suppose you just have to know what to expect.

I'm in the same boat, have been for a while, I'm just sick of watching this predictable boring group of players. It feels like I've been watching the same team, same tactics, same rubbish in the Cups on repeat my whole life. These group of players have done great things for the club and give their all but i'd love a big shake up.

Re: Can't be bothered anymore
In the last 3o years one of the following have won it every year except Wigan and Portsmouth
Manchester City
Manchester United
Liverpool
Spurs
Arsenal
Leicester
Chelsea
Everton
One of them will win it this year
All it can do is help with some cash
Otherwise it can interfere with a packed League Programme where staying in the Premier League is vital especially with these new owners
We will have to find nearly £10 million to pay the players their yearly bonus for staying in the division by May

Re: Can't be bothered anymore
It boils down to one simple question,
Do we watch football for entertainment?
Of course that's a yes but we are far from entertaining at times and I can see why people feel this way. Thousands of pounds to watch dross is hard to justify at times, especially now after Covid has ruined everything we once knew.
Ps. Im well aware that it isn't costing us that now but the point is that it has before and will continue to do so

Know exactly how you feel. There's no joy in it anymore for me. I'll find it very hard to just stop watching or following, but there's so much about what we are now that I just can't stomach.

To be fair, recruitment has been a joke whilst Garlick clearly lined up the exit. Combined with the pandemic let’s just keep behind the boys to stay in the prem........summer will be when new owners will have to back Dyche. We do what we do with what we’ve got.

Re: Can't be bothered anymore
I do wonder how the compensation is structured for the Manager. I'm assuming due to the riches of staying in the Prem, the Manager is on a lot to keep us in this league. As such he can quite happily stick two fingers up to us lot and say "I'm doing my job of managing this motley assembly of players and keeping the gravy train rolling for the owners!" Can't blame him TBH. He's doing a good job with what he's got, which let's face it isn't a lot when you compare us to our Prem neighbours.

We would never reach the final as we would have to beat 2 of the top 6 to get there ( that is my point)

Re: Can't be bothered anymore
Quite possibly a shake up of playing personnel in the summer wether we stay up or not - whichever division we are in there has to be fresh blood. The new owners have to show something too, especially after no signings in January, otherwise they will be considered “all talk” by the fans I’d imagine.KRBFC wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 8:34 pmI'm in the same boat, have been for a while, I'm just sick of watching this predictable boring group of players. Re: Can't be bothered anymore
Ultimately, to love football or a football club you need to be able to dream of future glory. For years, that meant regaining our place in the top division, and it was a hell of a journey to get here. Call me ungrateful, or complacent, or whatever, but now we've achieved that, a future of merely striving to stay in the division year-in, year-out, doesn't really do it for me anymore.
I know we're never going to win the league, but more than anything, I would love to see us play in the Cup Final. I don't know why, since this sort of things happens every season, but I feel that dream was killed tonight more than ever. Maybe I'd naively hoped that the change of ownership might bring a change of attitude, but then I suppose, more than ever, we need the Premier League booty.
I find this brutal, twice-yearly reminder that football is all about money rather than winning stuff does prompt me to ask "what's the point?".

Stoke tried to adapt like that, did alright for a while and then capitulated - I’d hate to see us do that, I’d love to see us change slowly but surely and go at it in the cups as you rightly alluded to.

You forgot we've beat Liverpool and Arsenal already this season? our record vs Leicester/Everton isn't bad, the only team who consistently beats us is Man CIty. I get that people are very disappointed after a very poor showing tonight but let's keep some perspective. It was a cup game which isn't the club's priority. Also, just wonder how many of the fans who are saying they've had enough, were saying that after the Liverpool and Villa games! Keep the faith. UTC

Re: Can't be bothered anymore
I’m the same now. Stopped the sports channels a few weeks ago, I found myself looking for things to do whilst the Burnley game was on in the background. Even the Liverpool win was painful to watch.
I check the scores but don’t get too worked up/excited by the result at all. The season definitely has a “doesn’t really count” feel about it now with the fans gone from the grounds for so long.
I’ll probably go back on once we’re allowed, but I can’t say I’m really looking forward to it.

Re: Can't be bothered anymore
It's hard to enthuse after tonight's fiasco.
Re: Can't be bothered anymore
The likes of Hull, Stoke, Palace and West Ham have all got to the final in the last 15 years or so. Even doing that would be a great achievement and provide a bit of excitement.
I guarantee it would be a lot more memorable in years to come than finishing 16th or 17th in the league.
