Really tough to give an mom and I’ve probably gone over the top on Lowtons mark but what a goal and fantastic performance.
I must mention that amongst a lot of excellent performances I thought the two in the middle were brilliant. Without doing anything that made you stand up they set the tone with their work rate and were everywhere, totally dominating the midfield. They showed that when it’s man for man in there they really are top players.

See what happens when we play fast direct football. Keep the ball on the floor and get it into the front men early. Much better than hoof ball. We reverted to long ball right at the end and it didn't work. There defenders mopped it up easily. Put them facing their own goal on the floor and they hated it.

Don't.... don't don't fall into the usual trap of believing that Burnley won because Palace were poor. This was an A1 performance from minute one in all areas of the pitch. Some outstanding performances in a brilliant team performance. Some people's comments on here about Jay Rodriguez through the week have been horrendous - he's finished at this level, he's a disgrace and so on..... I couldn't be more pleased for him to ram those idiotic words right down your throats today.

Pope 7 - hard to mark too much higher as it was all pretty much regulation but did it well.
Lowton 9* - hes playing very well at the moment, looks confident and has a little more freedom to express himself. Some excellent passing out of defence and that goal was superb and well deserved.
Tarkowski 9 - untroubled and that's the second week running his passing from the back has been exceptional.
Mee 8 - very solid, disappointing he coulsnt get his head on the corner in the first half but a very good performance. Hope hes going to be ok as hes huge for us.
Pieters 8 - fantastic ball for the first and a constant outlet on the left. Defended very well too.
Gumdundaon 7 - picked up a lot of loose balls through reading the game well and a great finish for his first. Thought his movement gave Lowton much more room and the forwards the option of running the channels. His distribution wa ssloppy at times though.
Westwood 9 - fantastic today covered a lot of ground and another to pick up a lot of loose balls. Some excellent distribution.
Cork 7 - great header from their corner in the first half but thought he could have shown for and used the ball better at times. Another to work very hard though.
McNeil 8 - played a big part in the first two goals and his movement again caused them real issues and created space for our full backs and strikers. A couple of sloppy moments but excellent on the whole.
Jay 8 - caused them a lot of issues, great to see him get a goal and a cracking assist.
Barnes 9 - absolutely fantastic today. Held the ball up fantastically well and got us high up the pitch. Deserved a goal.

Highest marks I've given in a while. Thought Matt Lowton continued his excellent recent form (and scored an outrageous goal), and I thought Jack Cork was outstanding. Hard to pick between those two for MOTM.

Just to add, although Brady was actually on the pitch for 25 minutes, because he came on after the 70th minute, there is no need to give him a rating.

This was a start to finish confident, accomplished and fluid performance.

Lowton 10 (MOM) Feels like a long time since a Burnley goal had me shoot out of my seat and wake the neighbourhood and the ambition he showed for that goal deserves a 10 but this performance has been coming I feel.

Mee 8 So solid but my heart was in my mouth at that challenge - will be a massive miss in this pivotal week

You can only beat what's in front of you and Palace were struggling with injuries and looked woefully, woefully poor. (That result might even cost Roy his job tbh!) We took full advantage and were excellent all over the pitch. Being churlish I wish Pieters would drive forward more often when the space is there rather than turning back as his cross led to us getting our noses in front and Mee's injury has taken the gloss off things sadly. Jay was brilliant after so many weeks of being dreadful and Lowton is brimming with confidence right now. I'm sweating on Mee's fitness because Fulham aren't absolutely awful and without our first choice CBs I fear for us. (See the early part of the season)

Pope 8 couple of good saves. Commands his area and kicking was better - maybe due to palace being so bad at winning headers though...
Lowton 9 excellent performance, even better goal.

I agree though, that win was how good Burnley were not how poor Palace were.

Jay Rod - 8 He was as good as he was poor in the FA Cup. Runs into the channels and made some great runs. Great (lucky!) ball for Lowts goal

One of the best and most assured wins away in the Premier League since we have returned. Never looked in doubt and thoroughly deserved the win. My only gripe is we should have scored more! Fingers crossed Ben is OK for Fulham or defo West Brom and Chas can come back in
