Re: Robbie Brady
I've heard it said that players who've played and trained with him say he's extremely talented and gifted. So I have to believe he genuinely is and it's more psychological than anything with him. But it really does seem deep rooted and as mentioned above you can see him constantly talking and apologising to his team mates and he has zero confidence. On a personal level I feel sorry for him as he always looks sheepish and like he's anxious or scared, but he's taking about 50K a week to play for us and he's producing absolutely nothing, so ultimately I don't feel THAT sorry and feel we desperately need to move him on.

Re: Robbie Brady
It’s a huge shame, and it’s been mentioned on here many times over the years, but what a performer he was in that first half of the season in 2017. Probably the closest we have had to Robbie Blake in the style of play and impact on games in those few months. He tore Blackburn to bits (albeit League 1 at the time) but I think back to Chelsea and Bournemouth in which he was extremely influential.
I’ve hoped we’d see a return to those days but I think it’s clear to see that’s never going to be the case. He’ll be off at at the end of the season and I think that’s in the best interests for all parties. I hope he goes on to have a successful remainder of his career wherever that may be.

Both of them have been the definition of average. 10+ million spent on them both, with both walking out on free transfers. Newcastle fans would pay us to take Hendrick back.

Re: Robbie Brady
I’m pretty sure I’ll take Dyche’s explanation that he was injured. Watch the reply of our goal. You see him pull up after playing the ball to Lowton.
I’m not having a go at McNeill because he tried things that don’t always come off but he was poor tonight as well. Yes he didn’t cock up for a goal but I didn’t see the same crap spouted about JBG when he did exactly the same thing against Brighton. Exactly the same thing, went to move off the line before the corner was defended then was out of position to defend the shot.

People have good games, and bad ones.
The difference between our good players, and great players, is consistency.
I cant see any point in slagging him off, **** happens.
If we want him to play better against Brom, we need to get off his back and support him.

people are also allowed to discuss someone having a poor game, run of games, season of games - we do when players have a good gameColburn_Claret wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 9:47 pmPeople have good games, and bad ones.

There is no hiding the fact that his form isn't really at the level required most of the time and before his injury he was one of our best players. Them's the facts

Re: Robbie Brady
I actually think the truth lies more in the fact that Moss could easily have sent him off. He was booked right after half time and then tugged the full back's shirt to stop him getting away. Relatively innocuous tbh, but at the time I feared the worst and I suspect Dyche did too and it may well have been why he came off.

Brady was injured - a few minutes earlier he told SD his hamstring was not right "give me another 10" Brady said.
He got about 5 after signalling again - Brownhill was already warming up after earlier alert from Brady.
BUT never mind - Brady gets stick for being a sub subbed......................................

Every single one of us have reacted to these endless lockdowns differently, you never know he might be the kind of player that does read forums and Twitter. He had a poor game tonight and the ultimate shame of being subbed on and off. The guy has a maximum of 14 games left in a Claret shirt, call it a bad day at the office and get behind him.northeastclaret wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 9:56 pmWhy, is he likely to read this thread before the match? Lucky to escape a red card. No matter what SD says, I’m sure he was brought off to avoid a sending off

Re: Robbie Brady
We're all behind him for the remainder of his Clarets career, but he's been poor for many weeks now, and added to that he's an injury waiting to happen, if we seriously want to maintain our place at the top table next season, we badly need to upgrade on the likes of Bardsley & Brady, our left side offers a constant threat, but Lowts apart we struggle to create down our right, and this makes it much easier for teams to defend against us.
Nobody wants to be critical about one of our players, but you have to call it as you see it, and Brady was poor for their goal, and was lucky to escape a red, and when his big moment came to win the game, he even fluffed his header, so of course he'll attract criticism after that display, and I for one am glad his contract is up in the summer, he can move on, and we'll hopefully source a ready-made replacement, that can actually deliver a quality ball, one of the main reasons we signed Robbie was for his set-pieces, and they've been terrible for far too long now.

Re: Robbie Brady
So far on the thread the injury has been an ankle problem (Chris Boden), Achilles heel problem (Dyche) and a hamstring (HunterST). So, who's bullshiiiiing and telling the lie? Manager, journalist or poster?
Or red card potential? or that he is just cack?
Probably all of them!!

Re: Robbie Brady
In Dyche’s Sky interview when questioned about Brady’s injury a sensed a whiff of BS.
But considering the state of the game if Dyche took Brady off to avoid him getting sent off then it was the right thing to do, particularly with JBG’s status for Saturday being unknown.

Re: Robbie Brady
And people thought Aaron Lennon was poor....
Re: Robbie Brady
I was very excited when we signed Brady. He looked a good player with technical ability along with an engine.
Although people say he looked good before the injury (imo he started ok and looked like he was getting better for us each game) he never seemed to fit the system the way he did at Norwich. I never thought he "hugged" the left hand side for us as much as he did at Norwich and seemed to come inside a lot rather than look for a cross, as opposed to when McNeil came through, who was getting down the left and getting crosses into the box.
He is unfortunately struggling to recover from the injuries and as others have said, his passing, set pieces and crossing have been poor for a while now. Im in the camp it's time for him to move on.
However you also have to consider that since coming back, Brady has been asked to play on the opposite side and has not had many minutes. I'd also agree with posters saying that maybe there is psychological fears such as injuring himself again at the back of his mind.
Then, there's rumours of him joining Celtic and with his contract expiring, it would be an awful time for him to pick up another injury.
A lot of contributing factors there for why his form had been inconsistent/poor whatever words you want to use. Ultimately I think the injury's have seen him off at this level.

Shame as always that fans have to find someone to blame and rip apart- I’m sure it’s great for confidence.

a load of sack. It ain't the fans' fault for his poor performances and lack of confidence. As mentioned previously he aint been at it for months, a right footed goal has been his contribution since coming back in front of no fans. Re: Robbie Brady
Unfortunately we're going back in circles again. Criticism of a player on a forum does not equate to not getting behind the lads. If someone comes here to discuss their opinion about a player not being good enough it's not the same as that idiot in the stands(remember them)? who openly and loudly jeers his own players.
You can be critical and still be a fan. There's no rule or contract stating you must not criticise one of our players. It's natural. If you want us to improve and do better, you don't want to see player performances go downhill.
Brady had a mare, he knows it, we know it, Dyche knows it. He's not been in good form which is why he's not been starting. There's not going to be a single fan who doesn't want him to improve and do better and no one will feel cheesed off if he does.
Stop linking two completely different things together and be respectful to other members. Take the time to understand what a discussion forum is about. Not much to ask is it?

And Brady’s not getting stuck for being a subbed sub, he’s getting stick for not playing well, and making bad decisions.
Brady flatters to deceive and has done so for a long time now. Mostly poor performances interrupted with the odd 8/10 performance. It’s just not good enough and certainly not a crime to mention it on here. I’d take 7/10 every game as opposed to 5/10 most weeks and the odd 9/10 when he’s up for it.
But it’s ok.... if we don’t mention anything on here about him playing badly he will play better against West Brom apparently...
We once had a good player on our hands before his first big injury.... he was really coming to the fore and showing every game, but for whatever reason, he’s a shadow of that player now.
Re: Robbie Brady
Absolute bobbins ( trying to be polite )
He can't beat a man.
His simple in game decisions are wrong the vast majority of the time - see the "clearance", the pull back and silly header attempt when Cork was unmarked on the pen spot.
His dead ball delivery is rank bad, first man or way over hit.
His free kicks - end up in the stand, think he scored 1 about 4 years ago and has dined out on it out on it ever since, a bit like David Luiz.
Crossing on the run is none existent.
He is like a poor Ross Wallace, least that guy contributed a bit, and got his basic skillset right, that's on a far more regular basis than Brady ever has.
There's talks of him going to Celtic, I'd personally drive him there ( has he learnt to drive yet ? ) and I presume its Stalybridge and not Glasgow!?

There's a picture in today's paper with Brady having an ice pack round his ankle after coming off. Doesn't take away the fact he had a poor game, but looks like it is an injury, to add to the many others.

The 10m we spent was to secure a players service for the length of contract agreed at the start. People need to realise just because you pay a fee for someone you don't automatically get a fee in return.
Re: Robbie Brady
It makes financial sense to pretend his substitution was due to a slight injury.

Re: Robbie Brady
A tale of two Robbies, for me.
The one prior to his injury - In form, beating his man down the left and getting crosses in. Always a threat at a free kick and looking like a shrewd signing.
The Robbie after - Shirking challenges, devoid of confidence, accuracy way off and (most unfortunately for him) forced to play in a position he’s never played in by the form of the man who stepped in to replace him - McNeil.
I find it hard to give him too much grief as, similar to Hendrick, he’s just not suited to where he’s being played. It’s clear he’s not a right winger but whilst we don’t have one he’s being forced to play there.
If there’s one thing comes out of this it should be apparent that the usage of Brady, Pieters, Brownhill, Benson, Hendrick (although he did well) And Defour as our go to wingers in the absence of an increasingly frail JBG, means it’s critical we sign a right winger in the coming window.

Re: Robbie Brady
I guess he means future transfer fees, not realising he goes on a free in the summer
