I had a Tape of "The Cure in Orange" 1992 ish full show aired on BBC.....2years ago I thought I'll throw it out along with "other junk." Theres a half show of the concert uploaded to utube currently had 400thousand hits.....

I'm a little disappointed with myself for throwing it out now.

Great. Thanks. Will record. Saw their Glastonbury performance a couple of years ago on TV. Thought they might be past it but it was brilliant.

Agree. They're one of those bands whose music is timeless.

Many years ago my sister was living in Newcastle and said The Cure are playing here in a couple of weeks do you fancy coming up to see them. Yes I said. I booked the time off work and the coach from London. I was living in Essex at the time. Unfortunately she had the wrong dates. I got the weekend in Newcastle but I have never seen The Cure live. And i have never forgiven my sister.

One of the school pals who first performed as Obelisk was in my Signal Squadron in Lippstadt, Germany.
Can't recall his name. he seemed to be a reserved kind of chap.

So Obelisk was the first line up of The Cure Dazzler, or the tribute band? I spent two years at 22 Sigs in Churchill Barracks. Great times in the late 80’s in BAOR. I saw The Cure whilst I was out there, at the Loreley Festival 1989, part of the Prayer tour with Disintegration having been released the week before. Pixies, The Mission and The Sugarcubes (bjork’s band) supporting. One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.

Saw them live at The NEC 1989. I was preoccupied much of it with the very nice girl sat next to me. I do remember The Cure being really good though. Saw their Glastonbury performance which I thought was disappointing but they are probably past it now. The Orange performance is very good.

It was October 81, I had just taken up residency at Churchill barracks. I was playing the Seventeen Seconds album & someone popped their head around the door & said there's someone you might be interested in meeting.
I think it might have been Alan Hill.

I used to be in a band called The Prevention. We were better than The Cure.
