That’s a good point. However, I don’t like Chelsea winning, so I’m cheering on Southampton.

Don't care about Chelsea particularly, but I'm happy to cheer on any teams playing those around us, we surely want to try and finish as high as possible this season don't we, if for no other reason than the extra prize money on offer.

That said Chelsea are incredibly fortunate not to be down to 10, there's been 2 shocking challenges by Timo Werner and N'Golo Kante, that for some reason beknown only to the officials didn't even merit a yellow, and yes VAR did check them, mind you Stuart Atwell is on VAR, so that tells you all you need to know.

Chelsea have had a huge amount of possession and passes but have been well guilty of "fannying around" in the last third. Southampton had hardly been near the Chelsea penalty area when they scored - a very nicely taken goal by Minamino it was too.
I'm expecting more of the same in the 2nd half, I think Chelsea will get a goal at some point but they could really do with a better number 9 than what Abraham looks to be so far.
An interesting contest for the first EPL game today.

Up to now, a penalty was the only way Chelski were going to score.
They've been awful up front.

3 defeat on the trot for Brentford now, to really poor opposition. How rubbish is the championship this year with last years relegated teams all in the top 6.

And all 3 of them are weaker, currently, than the side that got relegated. That won’t stop them spending money if they come back up.

Finished 1-1 at Southampton, not a bad result for us, means we can go level on points with Saints should we dispatch the Baggies this afternoon, amazing to think it wasn't that long ago they were flying at the summit, and we were hovering near the bottom 3, shows how rapidly fortunes can switch in this league doesn't it.

Liverpool losing at home AGAIN, and to add insult to injury Henderson has gone off injured, and Pickford is having a blinder on his return.

Gives them something to whinge about in a game they probably would have lost anyway.

Everton have been brilliant tonight, completely the opposite of their display against Fulham, just shows how unpredictable this season has been.

As for Liverpool they may have to win the CL to ensure they compete in it next season, because their top 4 hopes are diminishing by the week.

In fact at this rate they may not even bag a EL spot.

The records keep tumbling for Liverpool, although I'm not sure they'll want this particular one.

Liverpool have equalled the club league record of four consecutive home defeats, set from November to December 1923 in the top flight.

Liverpool equalled the top flight record for the longest home losing streak by a reigning champion - four by the Reds themselves from November to December 1923 and Everton from March to April 1929.

Liverpool have now lost four successive Premier League fixtures at Anfield, directly following a 68-match league home unbeaten run (W55-D13-L0).

That's astonishing. The absence of home fans must play its part. Just look at our game today. Our fans would have lifted our tired the team.

Fans not being present does have a role, and I was thinking today was precisely the type of game where a crowd could have made the difference.

Do they have var cameras to check offside at Fulham? No side on view shown it must have been close. Maybe because they only came up last season they are excused.

A Fulham win here could bring several teams back into the equation, yes we're one but we're by no means alone, everybody up to Southampton could yet get dragged into the mix.

Bottom 2 are gone I think we can safely say now, but the final spot could yet go to the wire.

I really believe that not having to play in front of their toxic, acidic, braindead supporters has probably helped West Sham this season. Horrible lot! They won the World Cup don't you know?
