Let’s give these a proper walloping today...
We are capable, let’s see which Burnley turns up. Let’s hope it’s the good one, and let’s hope it’s for the full 90...
COME ON BURNLEY!!!!

Awful. Great for the kids but surely AP sees the need to strengthen?!

Vydra back in, I think we’ll miss Ashley’s combative qualities

Three changes for Burnley from the team that drew with Fulham 1-1 in their previous game.
Skipper Ben Mee returns from a concussion injury. Kevin Long drops to the bench.
There’s also starts for Josh Brownhill and Matej Vydra. Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Ashley Barnes are both out of the squad.
Burnley XI: Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Brownhill, Westwood, Cork, McNeil, Vydra, Rodriguez.
Subs: Peacock-Farrell (GK), Norris (GK), Brady, Bardsley, Long, Nartey, Dunne, Benson, Driscoll-Glennon, Mumbongo.
I didn't expect Barnes to be missing today, and the bench looks weak again, so let's hope the XI selected can get the job done, great chance for Vydra to finally get his name on the scoresheet against the worst defence in the division, and he and Jay should relish today, and be looking to fill their boots.

Barny missing is a big blow.
The upside is we will have to play football instead of hoofball if we want to win.

Arguably our best starting 11 depending on whether you prefer JBG or Brownhill. Should be a comfortable (if not pretty) win today

Sam will have them trained and ready for an aerial assault but having Vydra might make us play it on the deck.
Hopefully.

2 goalies and 5 defenders on the bench. Looks like we're going for the 0-0 (or there 's simply nobody else!!)

Not sure that AP realises how much work has to be done this summer in terms of squad strengthening
Pretty sure Garlick would have sold the club as strong both financially and in playing terms

A win today and other results our way, and we are as safe as houses.
But it would be nice to get it, because the injury list is frightening.
I hope Vyds and Jay don't end up chasing the same balls again, they need to work as a pair, and understand their own roles.
Brownhill being hung out to dry on the left wing, again, but we don't have enough options to alter it.
Come on lads, deliver a performance, the result will take care of itself.

Put a £10 bet on earlier.........3-1 Clarets.........didn’t understand the machine in the bookies and then realised I’d put it on 3-1 with Vyds to score first........thought “what a numpty, Barnes Rodriguez surely to start......”
Then I see the line up!
125-1 riding on this.......come on Vyds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuchel does a Dyche
Brings Hudson Odoi on at half time and then subs him off
Abrahams also pulled at half time - this guy certainly has no favourites

If Matej (or Jay for that matter) gets a hat-trick he'll be the first Burnley player to do that in the top flight since Peter Noble in 75. You never know.....

The water bottles took a real beating from his boot as he went up the stairs of the stand to his seat

A lot will depend on Brownhill. If he can get in the game going forward it will relieve some pressure on McNeil on the other side who will undoubtedly be double marked the entire game.

Yep back on NYE 2016, we also got a pen in that game, but Barnes took it and scored, of course Andre had already completed his HT by then.
Vydra and Rodriguez

This is the front two many have clamoured for. They start today. Be interesting to see how they do especially against one of the bottom sides.
