Dreadful decision re: our penalty shout, given some that have been given this season.
100% nailed on, stonewall, sure-as-anything, certain deffo penalty.

Our so-called best referee Michael Oliver was the VAR man !!

What about the Sheffield United penalty ? That was a stonewall pen.!!

Both should have been given, you do wonder if after the spat of soft penalties at the start of the season, the officials are now erring on the side of caution and only awarding them when it's clear cut, this does highlight the small margins at this level, if both had been given and scored we'd now enjoy a 10 point advantage over Fulham, and no doubt this MB would be a vastly different place.

Kavanaugh awarded a soft as **** pen against Liverpool today. I laughed though when he went to the monitor and didn’t even look at it. I’d be steamed if that went against us.

Did they show the pen incident on MOTD?

Ever since I was a nipper I loved watching MOTD. I very rarely watch it these days. I think the "in depth" analysis is poor and predictable. I think the fact there are so many live games on a the moment kind of makes it redundant as I've normally seen what's gone on during the day, like today for example. Maybe when normality resumes next season I may give it a go again.

Social media tells you everything, even the Match of the Day Facebook page is updating you as a game is happening.
So if you don’t want to know the scores, you have disengage from everything online. Gone were the days off just closing your eyes when the news reported the results. Besides, If I’m not trying to avoid the results, I’ve probably seen the games already during the day.
As for in-depth analysis, its not really. Its like a baby version of Monday Night Football aimed at people who don’t understand football - i.e the general public.
So it seems like they rabbit on for too long - showing graphics of highlighted players following arrows into squares - the fancy graphics don’t actually mean anything. Take all we want is a conclusion from some former player who apparently ‘hates’ us so we can bash them on forums like this and Twitter.
It’s not Match of the Days fault, its the way information is delivered to us now.

What percentage of MOTD is actually a match these days?

I actually enjoy Match of the Day. I don’t mind that it only shows 5 minutes of each game (they do a good job finding 5 minutes worth of highlights in most of our games). I’m not offended if we are on last and I don’t think the BBC hate us.
It’s particularly more enjoyable if you haven’t been sat watching Sky Sports all day and seen all the goals already. If I’d been sat watching Sky News all day I wouldn’t expect to watch BBC News at Ten and expect to see much that I hadn’t seen or heard earlier in the day.

I always watch it even if I've watched the games earlier that day, I think it's a tradition for me. It helps sometime times when they only show a few minutes of the game, take ours for instance we didn't look as bad in those few minutes as against watching the whole 90.

Always watch a recording
Then I can just fast forward through the "experts" views

When I’ve seen the whole game, I only watch the “experts” view to see if they actually watched it too

it’s always interesting to see how impartial they can or can’t be about us. More often than not they praise when it’s due. However they usually mock when we have a bad time with officiating etc.

Just watched motd and it looked like a cracking 0-0. Plenty of near misses with red card drama and VAR penalty shouts. It is amazing what film editing can do.

Oliver thought we didn't deserve one on that performance, and he was right.
