Everyone needs to calm down

This is a topsy turvey season, our start was awful so we have to all calm down and just take the positives, 5/9 points in a week, unbeaten, conceding just 1 goal - not many last saturday at 12 noon would not have accepted that ?

This board talks as though were the only fans grumbling and moaning,

Liverpool fans are wondering WTF is going on after last season.
Crystal Palace fans were on meltdown 5pm last Saturday
Chelsea have lost their manager
Spurs fans are moaning about Jose
United fans moaning on and off regarding Ole
Newcastle fans moaning about Bruce
Arsenal fans 2 months ago wanted Arteta out

This season more than any is just to get the job done and stay in the league, this weeks 3 results has done that task no harm whatsoever

We’ll beat Spurs next week.

When you sacrifice a place in the quarter finals of the FA Cup to focus on 2 big home games in the league and you win neither and arguably should have lost both, then Dyche deserves every bit of criticism. Disgusting performance

I'd better get the fixtures page changed on here, I thought we'd played at Palace after the cup tie.

These last two games really could come back to bite us. If Fulham beat Sheff U tonight, they're 6 points behind us. They have Palace next week while we go to Spurs. Combine that with 18(?) goals all season and I can certainly see cause for concern at least

So the Fulham game several days after made no difference to team selection?

Even better to know we sacrificed a place in the quarters just for a mere one game and a grand total of 3 points.

Why couldn't we go full strength against Bournemouth, rest against Palace and then back to full strength against the teams below us?

I think Brighton and, especially, Newcastle will be more concerned when Fulham beat Sheff Weds. I reckon another 6-7 points will be enough to stay up.

Actually, I never thought of it like that, but you may have a point there.
However just for balance, had we gone with what you suggest, still lost to B'mouth and lost to Palace too would we have had the strength of character and ability to pull off 2 wins?

True, though Brighton have Palace and West Brom in their next two games. Definitely agree with Newcastle.

I know finishing higher than 18th is probably the main goal of a lot/most teams in the division, and I do still think we'll be safe, but relying on not being as bad as three other teams probably catches up with you eventually.

100% I have a point and yet still people think Dyche did the best thing. The 2 easier games on paper were the home games so before a ball was kicked against Bournemouth the plan i suggested makes most sense considering he wanted to rest players.

And yes definitely. The Palace performance obviously took a lot out of us so had we rested we would have been fresher for our 2 important home games and not the absolute dross we've just seen these past 4 days

West Brom had 10 men for ages sand were still the better team throughout. That says everything. Ultimately, I THINK the point is useless to them in the grand scheme of things, but might prove absolutely vital to us. Only time will tell. But we do need to play better or it might be the last point wee get!!!

Not when his squad is decimated and no impactful subs available.

Mumbongo is hardly going to make a difference and the fit midfielders all played from the start.

We are hanging in there and that is all that can be done.

All we needed to do was play our proper centre halfs against Bournemouth. It would have made such a difference and that's what got peoples back up.

I agree regarding options Ian but if we had played Tarky and Mee we would likely have got through that tie

I've seen some nonsense posted on here, but do you genuinely believe we won't pick up another point in our remaining 13 games.

Yes today was a poor day at the office as Shaun Wallace would say, however I'd still much rather be in our place then any of the bottom 3, and every point we accumulate makes their task all the harder with games running out.

I’m not really sure what people expect. We have played shocking football all season par 90-120 mins. This is just our style we are efficient not pretty. However I don’t quite think this is what the owners had in mind when trying to “grow the brand”. Most die hard Burnley fans find it chore the majority of the time.

No recruitment in January was criminal.

A very good point with both main strikers and 2 creative wide men out
We probably needed to add the two strikers from U23 but that was never going to happen
Sean set us up to win a point ,job done UTC

No of course I don't seriously believe it'll be the last point we get, but after that crap surely I'm allowed some dramatic license!!! :) However, I do think things might look extremely "squeaky" by this time next Saturday, as after struggling to make draws against rubbishy West Brom and almost as rubbishy Fulham we only have to play Spurs and Arsenal next! :o

I agree. I think he probably would have played them, given the opportunity for us, however, he would have added ongoing risk, which he did not think was worth it.

I didn't like it either. I do get up though.

I take your points on board, but firstly let's see exactly how many points Fulham pick up in their next 2 games, I've a funny feeling it won't be 6 somehow, and our next 2 games aren't Spurs and Arsenal, it's Spurs and then Leicester followed by Arsenal, now yes on paper they look tough, but not being favourites may actually play into our hands in these games, and we are certainly capable of getting a result against Arsenal at least, as we proved at the Emirates.

I definitely agree with one thing there. We are better, and always have been under Dyche, when we're not favourites.

Ben mee ironically got injured the very next game. Ironic I know.

A quarter final would have added great excitement and surely that's why we watch football. A game against Southampton in the quarters for a semi final at Wembley? Yes please

I want it all, like you Dom but the manager is paid to check the cupboard to see what is there, should an emergency actually arise.

The previous chairman let it empty, then sold it!

Dyche is getting plenty of criticism and today was a terribly limp performance . The team selection in the cup was impotent .

However at the end of the day we were unbeaten in three games against teams at the bottom collecting 5 valuable points in the process that will keep us up . It’s the focus on keeping up though that is so demoralising for many yet so motivating for many. We are in a never ending limbo !

Everyone losing their heads needs to look at the league table. Yes today we were terrible, but all teams have those days - Everton were terrible against Fulham and have just beaten Liverpool. It’s football. We were woeful, clearly tired and clearly off the pace but we got a point.

Not one of us would swap places with Fulham, WBA or Sheffield United right now and if Fulham lose tonight then what’s the damage?

As someone has already said elsewhere - I reckon we’d have taken 5 points over these 3 games at 9am last Saturday morning.

And we have form for being poor against ten men. They may have been a better team than WBA but Leicester played with ten men for about 87 minutes a couple of seasons ago and beat us 2-1!

We’ve just picked up 5 points out of 9
Another 3 games chalked off and no team below us picked up points against us to close the gap

At the end of the day I’d have been very happy with 6 points out of 9 and we are only 1 point away from that
We cant play like last week every game it’s never gunna happen lol

5 pts and 3 clean sheers from 3 games isn't the end of the world or even relegation form so no need to start worrying. The one thing it does show is that we need more depth in the squad and some creativite players.

If we don’t address this in the summer then I will worry about next season but for now I'm confident we'll survive this season.

Sacrificed?? Give over.

People keep saying that and “throwing” away a cup run like it was all but done to beat Bournemouth easily.

Have you checked how many games we played before Bournemouth? Have you checked how many players out we had? How many injuries we’ve had all season?

Football is about the collective season more than a one off game. Sean Dyche made his team selection based on what would be best for us in the long haul.

Get over.

Sacrificed yes. We didn't even know Pieters was unavailable for it. That's negligence and showed we hardly cared to much about it. Let alone playing an entirely new back 4.

You call it whatever you want but an entirely new back 4 and trying to field a player who wasn't even available shows you all need to know about how serious we were about getting through it
