In my view absolutely, he's inherited a team in disarray, and turned them into genuine top 4 contenders, and he's also got them playing some great football in the process, all without splashing out an absolute fortune on players take note Jose.

Sorry yes PL, the only other contenders that spring to mind are Brendan Rodgers who's got Leicester purring again, and maybe Ancelotti, but Everton will have to win a trophy (FA Cup) and finish top 4 for me to change my opinion, and I doubt either will happen.

A bit too early to call yet isn’t it. Doesn’t seem two minutes since Hasenhuttl was being tipped for the top jobs.

With absolutely no hesitation. He has transformed them. In fairness he has been rewarded with some fantastic recruitments. Even their loans-Lingard and Dawson playing some of the best football of their careers. Add to that their coaching staff and you start to realise why they have done so well

Pep would have to win the treble/quadruple to surpass what Moyes has achieved with West Ham, and with the finances and depth he's got the privilege of working with that isn't impossible, but PG and Man City winning the title isn't a story, it's almost expected now, and they have been helped by all their potential rivals spilling daft points, I will agree that Pep has managed his squad brilliantly, but it does help when you have the quality of players he does, what does impress me with City is their hunger for yet more success, and that's reminiscent of Utd under Fergie. and that longevity can't be easy to maintain year after year, mind you Pep still hasn't won the CL outside of Barca and Messi at the peak of his powers, and rightly or wrongly that will still remain a mark until he does.

You make some good points but you've failed to convince me. Pep definitely the early favourite to be named manager of the year this season and I for one have to agree

Shows what good recruitment can do, sold Haller for £20M, the two Czech boys are outstanding players, Soucek being one of the best midfielders in the league this season. Dawson for a couple of mill and a smart loan deals with Benrahma and Lingard. I hope they make it into the top 4.

I think West Ham have benefited from not playing in front of 50k+ supporters screaming at them to play "The West Ham Way". Which i can only presume means being a wholly unsuccessful method of playing football, involving regular relegation and winning nothing.

I went to West Ham with a junior football club i was involved with when they were at The Boleyn and Sam Alardarse was in charge. Given that we had taken around 100 junior players from 6 years upwards, we were exposed to one of the most foul mouthed rants from one of the West Ham fans, who i think scored a full house in the profanity bingo, and screaming that they were not playing "The West Ham Way". The most delusional and toxic set of fans you could wish to come across, as we witnessed during our 3-0 win there a couple of years back.

Moyes by a country mile for me if he keeps this going. He done an excellent job weeding out the bad apples and getting the team to play.

It'll be painful for the football hipsters, but IF he maintains it until the end of the season, it seems fair enough.

If the season were to end now then my manager of the year contenders would be:

Moyes
Rogers
Guardiola
Smith
Bielsa

In that order

It isn't the same Moyes that wasn't wanted by some on here when asked previously is it ?

Dyche probably done better than most PL managers this year. Given the injuries and lack of new signings, anything above 18th has to be considered a success

I suspect West Ham wouldn't be doing half as well if their toxic fans had been allowed in this season.

I think it’s great that Moyes has been re- born as a manager . I’ve always admired what he did at Preston and Everton and coming back as well as he has done this season is a good lesson in keeping believing in yourself.
Maybe not enough to win Manager of the Year but enough to earn a mention .
