Draw is best result for us followed by a Palace win. Sadly I think Brighton will win and push us down a place

Draw is certainly the best result for us.
2 points shared and not 3

Where does this rank on the list of biggest derbies?

Obviously not up there with the big ones like Liverpool / Man Utd, Southampton / Portsmouth or Newcastle / Sunderland but is probably very similar to our very own Burnley / Blackburn derby and maybe Norwich / Ipswich

Added pressure tonight with them both struggling and a bit close to the drop than is comfortable

Hi FCBurnley,

I agree with you.

"Draw is best result for us followed by a Palace win."

All Brighton so far, Palace without Zaha are poor again, and not a shot on target in the opening 25 minutes, same old story for Brighton, dominating possession but lacking that killer touch.

Don't know whether this an attempt at humour or not.

The Guardian:

"15 min: This, it has to be said, is yet to ignite into reminding us why this is one of the hottest rivalries in world football."

The hottest thing ever in this rivalry was that steaming dump someone left in a changing room a few years ago.

Palace win this and they're virtually safe, Brighton lose this and they'll be looking over their shoulders big time.

As for the supposed rivalry it's a media invention.

why are they even rivals? not even geographically close to each other.

Looking at the table at half time I think I want the score to stay the same for the rest of the match
While I m pretty sure we will stay up you can never be too sure and the more clubs below us the better for me.
Someone may correct me but don’t Brighton finish their PL seasons fairly poorly .
Not that I’m worried though πŸ˜‰

I think you might be right. I can’t remember Brighton ever having a strong finish.

Rivalry comes from the Palace fans throwing hot coffee over the Brighton manager, Alan Mullery, years ago

A big % of Guardian writers (and readers) probably live in Brighton and London (albeit north rather than south), so it could be the biggest rivalry in their parochial world except for Arsenal v Spurs.
It is fairly fierce though & there's been a fair amount of crowd trouble in the past- so not entirely made-up. Hardly Spuds v Arsenal or Saints v Pompey let alone Glasgow/Edinburgh/Manchester/Liverpool/East Lancs/Brum/ south Wales etc derbies- before you get to any South American/European derbies.

Looks unlikely, they're on the ropes and not much of a back bone.

Hopefully they will as a draw is certainly the best result for us
