Burnley top the Premier League points per game table
Burnley top the Premier League points per game table
Taken from Lancs Live - (can't vouch for it's accuracy!)
Sean Dyche is getting more bang for his buck than any other Premier League manager.
Burnley spent £82.6m in transfer fees assembling their squad, less than some clubs have spent on a single player and the second lowest total in the division just ahead of Fulham (£81.6m).
Despite this though, the Clarets have maintained their place in the top flight and has earned Dyche plenty of praise.
With 28 points on the board so far this season the Clarets have earned the equivalent of one point for every £2.95m spent on transfers, fewer pounds per point than any other top flight club.

I think if it points won since we bought each player then it would be close to £1 per point!

The table is explaining why Man City are top of the Premier League. Yesterday in answer to a reporter's question to Pep about the reason for the run of 19 victories Pep said: We have spent a lot of money and bought the best players. I think the reporter was seeking a response about strategy, tactics, etc.

It shows a very, very strong correlation to league position.
Unsurprising.

I notice Leeds are second in that table. Bielsa obviously doing a fantastic job improving average footballers as well as Dyche.
He deserves a pat on the back.

Only if the article starts by saying "Leeds are fantastic being almost the top of the points per game table" .......then anything else will be lost in a load of wafflesuperdimitri wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 6:16 amA stat that will never make it in the mainstream media.

Sheffield Utd stick out like a sore thumb, 20+ million for that donkey from Liverpool was a huge mistake.

Re: Burnley top the Premier League points per game table
Quite misleading this stat. Is that what we have spent on the players playing in this squad it total matched with this seasons points? What about net transfer spend per points over what the past 5 seasons? See where we are then.
