So That Is Newcastle Down Then?

Here’s an interesting article:
https://www.themag.co.uk/2021/03/massiv ... rd-report/
Apparently a physical altercation between Steve Bruce and a player with several not happy at the moment for all the blame they’ve received.
I almost feel bad for Hendrick!
I know every manager has issues with certain players- Bamford, Gibson and Dyche but I reckon it never got physical. Though, to be quite honest I don’t think I’d go toe to toe with the Stone Cold Sean Dyche

.

I've seen a few, slightly differing, takes on this, D Telegraph has an article today headed "Inside Newcastle's civil war: Bust-ups with Steve Bruce, 'cowardice' and fury over leaks"
I'm sure these little conflabs occur at some time each season within a lot of clubs but the bad thing is that they are leaked and participants and grievances named.
Telegraph intimates that there's some sort of WhatsApp group amongst the players where they denigrate and take the **** out of Bruce. There does seem to be a small group of players who would be happy for him to go but a bigger group who are not involved in that. There's also an intimation that some players want Graeme Jones to be the boss rather than Bruce (who he was brought in to help earlier this year).
Definitely not the sort of environment a club in a relegation battle needs.

They're already down, they spent some money in the summer transfer window.
Another 10m and itd have been 2 divisions, and quite possibly the next Bolton, or even worse Bury!

Of course. Maybe this is why Dyche is SO PARTICULAR about who comes into the camp?
Certainly a bad environment in the midst of a relegation scrap.

Spot on WiscoC Sean D won't have players who rock the boat ... When he 1st came to the club he allegedly had players fill out anonymous questionaires asking them to name players in the inherited squad who were disruptive

The noises coming from the Newcastle camp don't sound like a happy place, and if they aren't all pulling in the same direction then it will hardly favour their survival prospects, the bigger worry for them is a few of their better players currently being injured, and even with their lack of numbers Hendrick still can't force his way into the starting XI, that tells you all you need to know about how much he's rated by Bruce.

Bruce has given Hendrick lots of chances to shine this season, maybe now he knows what a good number of Burnley fans already knew after watching him for the last few years , underwhelming

I hope not. We’ll probably try and re-sign Hendrick as a RW if they do!

Not much sign of their results taking an upturn, 7 points out of 33 this calendar year, and if they don't get a result at West Brom this weekend, the knives really will be out for Steve Bruce I'd imagine.

They are dire but the incident was after last Saturdays match. Over the equaliser they conceded to Wolves. We’ll see how they react. I would love to see them go down.

They need to leave Hendrick out because in the 9 games that he hasn't played they have picked up 6 points, scored just 6 goals and conceded 14.
In the other 17 games in which he has played they have picked up 20 points, scored 21 and conceded 30. Leave him out for another 9 games with the same form and they would be struggling.

Newcastle might struggle over the next few games
but I think once they get their forwards back they'll pick up a few wins.
Hopefully not against us.

It’s my belief that if we had retained Hendricks instead of Brady Burnley would not need to be worrying about any of the bottom three overtaking them.

Who's worrying?Hendrick is a big miss for us this season....Newcastle wont go down ..the current bottom three were relegated ages ago.

Sorry I don't understand this post at all.
How were Fulham "relegated ages ago" ? They were unbeaten in 5 games before tonight and were very unlucky to lose after bossing the game in the second half. They are 3 points from safety with 11 games left.

Sorry, I don't follow Newcastle Utd.
So are we hoping Bruce leaves Hendrick out? Do the players want Hendrick in?
One thing of which I am sure: We would be a better team if we had Hendrick.

Despite a marginal improvement the bottom 2 are gone, however I certainly wouldn't write Fulham off by any stretch, they are 3 points behind Brighton & Newcastle with 33 points to play for, and teams have previously made up far larger deficits, plus Fulham's recent form has been decent, unlike some of the sides above them, and they'll definitely have belief that they can escape, I'm just thankful we've got slightly more breathing space after the midweek fixtures, but we certainly can't rest on our laurels that's for sure.

According to Dyche, they did not have to name anyone. Just say how many there were. He would then assess and decide who they were.

If Fulham can add the odd goal to their general play, then Newcastle do look favourites.
However, it is a long season. Lots could be that club!

Yeah they must really love his contributions. He's clearly having a fantastic season. Speak to most Newcastle fans and they will tell you that his two goals side he's been bobbins. Here's a comparison to Brownhill who's played a similar amount of games for us:

Christ even Stephens has more strengths.
Two goals and assists ahead yet weak in every other area. So much so his overall game stats serve him no strengths at all. I won't bore you with the individual stats as it's pretty easy to find those yourself.
He's basically doing for them what he did for us. Once or twice a season he'll have a good game and chip in. But 90% of the time he'll go missing.
No sympathy for me. He jumped ship because he didn't like the contract we offered him. Every other Burnley player who has done that would get abuse from fans. Yet he seems to be some kind of idol to many on here.

It could easily go down to the wire and be a three way race between Southampton, Fulham and Newcastle.
Over the last 11 games Fulham avr 1pt a game. Newcastle 0.70. Southampton 0.50.

Very impressive, however, it is just someone else's opinion and based on other peoples' opinions ---perhaps even Newcastle and Clarets fans.
With Josh Brownhill, who I do rate, unlike a lot of Burnley fans, playing we have averaged 1.12 points per game whereas Newcastle with Hendrick in the team have averaged 1.17 points per game and last season we averaged 1.50 per game and he did and has scored goals which is something which Josh has to add to his game.
I do know what Newcastle fans think because I live amongst them and have done for well over 30 years.
I was giving facts, neither for nor against Hendrick himself, just simply how Newcastle had fared with and without him in the team.
I do not criticise players or ex-players because they are doing something which I only did at semi-pro level and it was hard enough there.
Your opinion is exactly that and you have lots of people in Burnley and Newcastle who think the same, that does not cause me a problem at all ---it's only a game.

Well I'd settle for that from our next 11, that'd give us 45 which will be plenty, indeed such a haul might even see us finishing 12th/13th depending on what others do.

Brownhills goals should come. Far less experience at this level and already outplaying Hendrick. I know Hendrick seems to be a marmite player but my post was just demonstrating he doesn't shine in any area if you look up his stats.
But you're right. It's only a game. It's only a discussion forum and my opinion means nothing in the grand scheme of things. I wouldn't worry about being critical though, it's healthy to want more from players and want to see them do better.
