Absolutely outstanding today.
Followed on from the Leicester game with 110% effort. Involved in everything in the final 3rd. His press gained us a point, and his pass to Wood should’ve won all 3.
Wood & Vydra should be the front two from now on.

Great performance ..vydra seemed to win a fair amount of headers today too ....chuffed with the point ...feels like a win

Brilliant movement and energy again. Had we scored the wood effort or Vydra himself scored when he lost his footing, both would’ve been world class goals.

I've just given him a 9 on the player ratings and said that's the best I've ever seen him play. He linked up superbly with Wood.

He controls and holds it up really well. Backs into defenders and uses his size and strength reallly well.

Another really good performance from him. Showing some good signs of building an understanding with Wood too. Hopefully more goals for both will start to follow.

My MoM.
As well as some quality touches and play, he got through a lot of work for the cause today.
Had a cracking match.

Our best player today by a country mile.
His Football IQ is far superior to anyone else in our team and that’s why some of his support play breaks down as Wood just isn’t on the same wave length as of yet.

Good game for Vydra today, particularly second half.
Needs to make more of fouls on him if referees aren't going to give them though. Lacazette got a free kick and got one of ours booked simply for screaming.
Vydra was fouled in the box as he as taking a shot and nothing gets given. If screaming is a pre-requisite for being awarded a free kick then, sadly, Vydra needs to catch on.

He certainly was on song today and got gradually better as the game went on, so good to see from him.

I think the club activated a year extension on his contract during the January transfer window. So should be contracted to the end of next season

Amazing what a run in the side can do. Always said he should've been getting more than 5 minute cameos.

Don’t think that was a foul on Vydra tbh.

I think it's a clear fk if you get the right camera angle on it. Clear trip on him as he is lining up his shot. Arsenal player doesn't get the ball.

I thought he was OK - certainly deserves his place at the moment but but definitely not outstanding. He is like all our strikers - a decent player.

I didn't see his performance in the same way as you did, way beyond OK for me, but it is about opinion.

Outstanding for me is like a Shearer/Wright/Henry at their peak performance.
Vydra created a bit and looked reasonably lively. Didn't score.

Best I’ve seen him, admire his drive and determination because he’s hardly had it easy since he joined us. He’s a very likeable lad, no issue with his agent wanting to get him a move but I’d actually like him to stay and one of Barnes and Jay to move on in the summer for a new addition

It would have to be a new 2 year deal (starting next season), on which wages would have to be negotiated again. The one year extension for next season was part of his original deal and is on same terms as now
But he's only 28 so too young to fit the profile for a further deal

Wasn't it his decision to get away early in the season so if he continues getting starts and does as well or better then today then he must surely change his mind.
On the other hand someone might come in for him.

Absolutely he was. It doesn't make him a good player or a bad player but if he played like that more often then I'm sure many of us would look more favourably at him. The front two were excellent, as they were against Leicester. Hopefully that can continue.

He definitely gives us another string to our bow, also he's improved his aerial game as well as being good in his ground movement generally.

His hold up play has improved immeasurably since he first started up front for us, where he was regularly easily beaten to ball into feet. Provides us with real mobility and energy up there which definitely means teams find it more difficult to pin us back and we can play higher up the pitch. He deserves to be starting at the minute, performances against Brighton and Arsenal today were particularly good. Just needs to sharpen up a little in front of goal.

It’s a lazy narrative that he is lightweight. He wins his fair share in the air and puts himself about. He actually caused Dias problems against City and not many have done that. He just needed a run of games like all strikers do.

I’m delighted for him . Don’t know what his contract situation is but we need him over the next couple of seasons.
Time for more of that loyalty quality that makes Dyche an outstanding manager. A starting place for Vyds should be his to lose .
Still purring at the link up play between him and Wood that should have led to a Goal Of The Season contender .

For his size he wins an extraordinary amount of headers. I think this part of his game is generally overlooked.

He wins as much as our other forwards when it’s a high ball. When it’s a cross u would still want Wood or Jay but again we have not had chance to see Vydra attack a cross with a header as they all hit first man these days

Another excellent all round performance, he is finally giving SD some serious problems as to leaving him out. Constant pain in the backside again. Brilliant, think Barnes knows he needs to find full form this time to get back, which cannot be a bad thing.
