He likes Burnley. And was good for us.
For some reason a lot of Burnley fans don’t like him. Strange. Although having said that most Burnley fans don’t even like each other.

For the record I like Eddie. Top manager. Big part of the reason we are here now.

I think a lot of it has something to do with weather they like them personally and if they engage certain Burnley fans with information ...cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 5:53 pmHe likes Burnley. And was good for us.

Nothing to do with Managing the football team..

He left us in a lot better shape than when he came in.
Signed us some valuable players. Didn't Austin's sale to QPR stave off the threat of administration?

We can certainly be thankful of him leaving the job for Dyche.ClaretSteve wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 6:09 pmFor the record I like Eddie. Top manager. Big part of the reason we are here now.

Re: Eddie Howe pre match Sky
He’s a nice enough fella is Eddie but it clearly wasn’t working towards the end of his tenure with us.
It was best for both us and him that he left when he did.

Re: Eddie Howe pre match Sky
Cannot get the hatred for Eddie Howe...
He didn't leave under a cloud ... he left for personal reasons ... fully understandable ... he left us better than he found us ... and we got the Dyche to replace him ... Win Win (which we tended to do v Bunmouth

I actually felt proud listening to him that he was once our manager. Very few of our recent managers have brought so much high quality talent to the club in a relatively short period-Ings, Austin, Mee, Trippier, Stanislas. I know there were several suspect ones, but these were top draw

Re: Eddie Howe pre match Sky
I honestly thought he was a step up from Stevie C and he was decent for us for a long time. Nothing at all against him, I think it just made more sense for him to be back near B’mth so fair enough. Like Cotts it was time to go when he went, it was clearly heading to rocky waters for both.

He ALMOST had it right at Burnley, but he really couldn't sort out the defence and that was his Achilles heel sadly. SD was totally the opposite and if you stop conceding you only need one chance at the other end and...!!!

Led to believe his much maligned “team” brought a certain Dwight McNeil to the club as well.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 5:53 pmHe likes Burnley. And was good for us.

Almost had it right in what way?? If you can’t sort a defence then it’s unlikely you are going to be a success. He came across as a nice bloke but I don’t really recall much that suggested we’d be anything but mid table under him.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 9:14 pmHe ALMOST had it right at Burnley, but he really couldn't sort out the defence and that was his Achilles heel sadly. Re: Eddie Howe pre match Sky
Well we were decent going forward and he made some really good acquisitions. (Ings, Stanislas and others) but he persevered with the likes of Edgar in either midfield or central defence and that was plain daft. We were just way too easy to score against and you've simply got to address that first and foremost to be successful, even if the football you're playing is utter dross! A scratchy 1-0 is still 3 points!Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 9:18 pmAlmost had it right in what way?? If you can’t sort a defence then it’s unlikely you are going to be a success. Re: Eddie Howe pre match Sky
Ings came in under Howe's tenure also....
Re: Eddie Howe pre match Sky
Bloody hell, this is getting like the football version of "What did the Romans do for us ?"
For the record I rate him as a manager, great eye for talent but he just wasn't right for us which came from him IMHO.

Ben Mee was a Howe signing and you could probably make a reasonable argument saying Mee was the best of the lot when you look at what he gives us.

I think that’s true, as much as I liked him. Made some excellent signings but I never felt we were close to getting to the way he clearly wanted to play for whatever reason.
A pivotal point in both ours and Bournemouth’s history when he decided to move on.

Decent going forward was a bit of a myth we scored a lot in certain games. There were some seriously dull performances in there!

Re: Eddie Howe pre match Sky
Over the seasons....a lot of potential managers have been mentioned on here... they've all mostly disappeared off the Radar. Owen Coyle...Eddie Howe...and Sean Dyche were Never Mentioned at all.
