Re: Everton v Burnley - Player Ratings
As Dark Cloud said on this thread. "Brady 5 (Keep him away from dead balls and free kicks for God's sake. He's utter pants!!!)"
As CnBtruntru said "Brady 5"
As Burnley 007 said "Brady 5 rubbish."
As bfcjg said "Brady 6 please no.more free kicks."
And there are plenty more like that.
It's all about opinions.
Re: Everton v Burnley - Player Ratings
Agree but none of those you quote above went so far as to say - 'No more games would be even better'. Also, you were using Lancs Live to support your view re Vydra, so I just put their comments on Brady for balance. What's good for the goose is good for the gander!Gordaleman wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 2:20 pmAs Dark Cloud said on this thread. "Brady 5 (Keep him away from dead balls and free kicks for God's sake. He deserves a 7 just for not getting injured in 28 minsGordaleman wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 2:20 pmAs Dark Cloud said on this thread. "Brady 5 (Keep him away from dead balls and free kicks for God's sake. He's utter pants!!!)"

I marked him down for two very poor free kicks, if he had of taken them better he would have been 7 plus, I don't have an issue with him, there are better set piece takers hower Dyche must allow him to take them in training so he obviously doesn't have a problem with him so it indicated to me his standard had dropped.

The flaw in certain posters’ arguments is that they are incapable of finding a balance.
Yes they assert , we all have a right to an opinion . However, when their opinions purposely ignore players’ good ( or bad) performances you can’t help thinking that those posters’ opinion should be ignored.

Who is a better set piece taker in terms of a free kick attempt at goal?bfcjg wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 9:25 pmI marked him down for two very poor free kicks, if he had of taken them better he would have been 7 plus, I don't have an issue with him, there are better set piece takers hower Dyche must allow him to take them in training so he obviously doesn't have a problem with him so it indicated to me his standard had dropped.

Those three have scored less goals between them than Brady from free kicks.

Fair enough, however if Brady is given more to take he will assist more, and takes them as poorly as Saturday because he is the taker then no one else can compete.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 10:15 pmThose three have scored less goals between them than Brady from free kicks.

Re: Everton v Burnley - Player Ratings
I can only think Brady's not been spending as much time practicing free kicks, In part because he's usually not been in the team so McNeil or Westwood have been assigned to take them instead. Being good at free kicks isn't just a gift. Even David Beckham spent hours and hours practicing them in training.
You can also see he's improved his right foot which I'm sure is in part because he's been expected to play on the opposite side.
He's already pretty versatile being able to play as a left wing back so maybe it's just too much to ask for him to learn to play on the other side.
If we keep him I'd like to see him just stick to what he's good at and keep him as solid backup when McNeil is injured, tired or just not playing well. If he can get back to some good deliveries it would be a viable tactic to bring him on together with someone like Barnes in an attempt to chase games playing for set pieces.
Fed up with us having to shoehorn players in when we could be playing to their strengths with a bigger squad.

Re: Everton v Burnley - Player Ratings
That was possibly the best performance I’ve ever seen.
We’ve had better results -even this season- but I’ve never seen us comprehensively play such a good side off the pitch for so much of the game.
Pope 8
Lowton 8
Mee 8
Tarks 7
Pieters 8
JBG 8
Westwood 8
Brownhill 8
McNeil 9 *MOM*
Vydra 8
Wood 9
Brady 7
What a spectacular performance. Great marks all round.
Proud to be a Claret.
