The Vinyl Whistle on Otley Road is his shop. As for his not being fit, I would love to see a lot of those criticising him carry out the fitness tests that he has to complete.
He has also played the game at a decent level and I think that he understands the game better than a lot of officials, hence the lead up to our first goal was seen as a normal sequence of play where there was physical contact but no foul.

Thats the one, if I remember they had the Red Rum Club playing live outside the front during lockdown which in normal times would be impossible as the road it opens up onto is about as busy as it gets in Leeds

I am not saying he’s majorly unfit. Compared to the average fifty year old man I’m sure he’s pretty fit.

But he’s nowhere near as fit or quick as a premier league player.

I’m also not saying I expect him to be Ronaldo. I’m saying surely there needs to be has to be some sort of incentive to get younger, fitter and ultimately quicker referees in the premier league. Perhaps of an age too where they can relate to the players and vice versa.

In a league worth billions. You should have a better pool to choose from than people twice as old as those playing it. The games only getting quicker. And a lot of these referees cannot keep up with the game. It’s not their fault.

Were we that bad getting three yellows plus Pope for time wasting? BBC stats have us committing 6 fouls-so I assume three were professional ones to Everton 9 fouls and no bookings

The Mee-Holgate handball penalty incident was in fact a foul by Mee - his arm was over Holgate's shoulder.

Fitness is just one component of refereeing. Clearly Moss is fit enough whatever he looks like. Remember you don't have to keep up with play, just be in the vicinity. You can be too close to play, not just because you might get in the way but because of better all round vision. This has been proven by studies.

I recall some Dutch research saying 20m but that was a while ago. I would guess it depends on the standard of play. The pace and intensity at the top level is extraordinary in comparison with park football.

No idea, but he’s from the North East & lives in Leeds.

He’s not a headteacher. He’s a full time Premier League ref.

Having researched, he was 'interim' head teacher in Todmorden, and also a school in Halifax at least as close back as 2018.

It wasn’t a dirty game but Lowton, Tarks and Westwood all committed cynical fouls to prevent counter attacks and deserved their yellows. And Moss didn’t fall for Pope’s fake short goal kick routine.
