This week sees the annual Cheltenham Festival that runs from Tuesday until Friday.

A Nap league will be run as usual with the following basic rules:

Choose one horse per race each day and mark one selection each day as your 'Nap'.

Each losing horse will cost you a virtual £1 and each winner will increase your score by the SP. If your Nap wins the SP will count as double.

You will start the competition at a virtual +/-£0.00 and your wins and losses will accumulate during the week.

Non runners will be classed as losers.

A league table will be posted each evening some time after the final race has been completed.

This is free to enter to absolutely anybody.

The final declarations have now been made for Tuesday's races and a pretty dry week is forecast so there shouldn't be a whole load of non runners to contend with.

At least if I finish near the bottom of the table again this year showing a negative balance I will have reasons to be thankful that the bookies are still closed

We had a preview night last night with some owners, an assistant trainer, a couple of well known tipsters/form experts and a jockey on the panel, and a couple of bits of insight from it. James Du Berlais will outrun his odds in the Champion Hurdle, Vintage Clouds is a good ew bet in the Ultima and if you like the form of Houx Gris at 9/2, then you have to like the form of Homme Public even more at over double the price.
