How do we get round the absence of hotel stays in the current climate. Is this basically a 6am start to travel to this fixture. Seems a distinct disadvantage for the away team.

Pretty sure teams are using hotels.

Bit confused about fixture schedules. When we resume in a few weeks time, all the games seem to revert back to 3pm Saturday kickoffs. Are you saying that, from April, they go back to solitary games at given times?

I think they’re only listed as 3pm as the next batch of tv deals has still yet to be fully organised and confirmed

Would really love us to sneak a 12:30pm Saturday lunchtime kick off. Purely for selfish reasons of course.

We are permitted to use hotels but I believe we use them only when we have to and if we travel by coach we have to use three coaches.

The away teams used the new Crow Wood Hotel before the pandemic. I think they might still be staying there before the games at the Turf.

I was due to go to two blood donor sessions held there, both of which were cancelled due to Man Utd & Leicester being there
(Why Man Utd needed to have a rest following their 30min drive is anyone’s guess)

Often wondered about away teams and travelling. For instance, in the case of derby games or games where little travelling is required( say, Leeds/Burnley) do the away team have to be in a hotel prior to the game or can they just travel straight there from their own ground?

Is there even adequate washing facilities for the away team at Turf Moor with the new changing room arrangements? It may be that visiting teams like to use more generous facilities to freshen up and de-brief after a game.

I was talking to a couple of the support staff at a motorway services after a game on the south coast (pre-covid). They were saying that the players, management team and certain senior support staff all flew from and back to Manchester whilst the kit and all the others travelled both ways by coach 'on the day' just like the fans often do. I told him I was surprised as I had seen the players getting onto a coach after the match and said they had simply been taken to the airport for their flight then the coach had returned to the ground to collect the remaining staff.
