I Bet Spurs are Cock-a-Hoop at Hart
Our former goalkeeper’s social media team have really ****** off Spurs fans by tweeting “Job done” after their 3-0 reverse... he puts it down to a typo... bet he’s popular.

Nothing to do with him though is it? It's like a lot of players, they have companies running their social media. Jay Rod is one who doesn't run his own.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 9:59 pmOur former goalkeeper’s social media team have really ****** off Spurs fans by tweeting “Job done” after their 3-0 reverse... he puts it down to a typo... bet he’s popular.

I’d say it’s certainly something to do with him if it’s his name and ‘official’ account. He’s pushing his brand out through it and has employed someone to put his feelings outClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 10:11 pmNothing to do with him though is it? If views expressed through an individual's social media account are nothing to do with them and don't represent their views or opinions what is the point of it?

Yes, but could you imagine the meltdown on here if that had happened while he was with us... they’d be burning effigies in the streetsClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 10:11 pmNothing to do with him though is it? This is a complete non-story. Just a mistake by his social media team that some are attempting to make into something bigger than it really is.

So when Jay used social media to offer help to people in need during lockdown it wasn't really him?

That seems utterly disingenuous.

Re: I Bet Spurs are Cock-a-Hoop at Hart
It has everything to do with him. He has employed people to run his personal, verified account. If it was a fan account or similar, then that would be a different kettle of fish, but the responsibility for his personal accounts rests on him whoever actually makes the posts. For all we know, it could actually have been him making the post and he’s just trying to save face.

Probably not, or he at least did it in partnership with his team. He more than likely helped come up with the idea though, as his off field work with Pendleside Hospice in particular suggests he has a strong social conscience so I wouldn’t get too het up about it.duncandisorderly wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 10:46 pmSo when Jay used social media to offer help to people in need during lockdown it wasn't really him?

I don't get het up about anything.
Just seems a bit rum to praise and/or criticise players social media if none of it is done by them.

Donald Trump didn't type his. He didn't actually know what Twitter was. Turns out it was his 10 year old grandson who faked his profile!

It is done by them though, in terms of the idea. He doesn’t have to use his profile to help others in this way. Just because he doesn’t actually do the posts doesn’t mean he has nothing to do with the initiative. He arranged to meet up with a fan before she sadly passed away (forgive me, I forget her name) - this will have have been his suggestion.duncandisorderly wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 10:52 pmI don't get het up about anything.

Re: I Bet Spurs are Cock-a-Hoop at Hart
Not sure how having a team gets anyone out of responsibility when their name is on it... if you go into a pie shop and the assistant serves you a crap pie, do you go back to the shop and buy direct from the owner? His name, his responsibility for HIS ‘brand’

Re: I Bet Spurs are Cock-a-Hoop at Hart
If social media accounts of a football player are nothing at all to do with the football player and tweets have nothing at all to do with them, then why did Andre Gray get a ban for an old tweet? Could he not have claimed it was one of his social media ‘team’?
If Burnley fc or any other company tweeted something offensive or ridiculous would that have nothing to do with the company? Ridiculous and stupid to even suggest that someones official social media that they have put their name to has nothing whatsoever to do with them.

Re: I Bet Spurs are Cock-a-Hoop at Hart
Does this work with WhatsApp as well? Could Tripps have tried out this defence when he had conversation with his friend about going to Madrid?
I'm sure Joe Hart will have a conversation about "please check the result before you post on twitter for me next time...."
EDIT: Apologies, I now see that it was JH's instagram account. I wonder does he have different media teams for the different accounts?

Re: I Bet Spurs are Cock-a-Hoop at Hart
Given the age of the tweets and the wording it would be very difficult to substantiate a claim that he had a social media team.!!thelaughingclaret wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 11:38 pmIf social media accounts of a football player are nothing at all to do with the football player and tweets have nothing at all to do with them, then why did Andre Gray get a ban for an old tweet? The best example of how it works is Marcus Rashford. He discusses his views and position with his team and they then Polish it up and produce the text.

Re: I Bet Spurs are Cock-a-Hoop at Hart
I’m sure there would have been meltdown on here. I can’t recall who it was now but we signed a player on on his Twitter account he announced he’d signed for someone else. Like so many player he employed someone to run his social media accounts and they’d cocked up.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 10:33 pmYes, but could you imagine the meltdown on here if that had happened while he was with us... they’d be burning effigies in the streets

Re: I Bet Spurs are Cock-a-Hoop at Hart
It’s some players, not all, who have social media teams but they have to accept that they must take the responsibility when it is under their name.thelaughingclaret wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 11:38 pmIf social media accounts of a football player are nothing at all to do with the football player and tweets have nothing at all to do with them, then why did Andre Gray get a ban for an old tweet? You use Andre Gray as an example. I’m not sure where he was in his career when he posted the offensive tweets. I think he was maybe a non league player or not even in football so I’m certain he wouldn’t have been employing anyone to tweet for him.
In the case of Jay Rod though, I received an email from his social media team a couple of days ago.

How bizarre that this has gathered so much attention. Joe Hart, like most Premier League players have agencies who post on their behalf.
Did Joe Hart personally post ‘Job done’ - no he didn’t, but somebody representing him did. No big deal
Also, has anyone died from this mistake or something?

Don’t see anything wrong with it. I employ somebody to run my Up the Clarets account
Re: I Bet Spurs are Cock-a-Hoop at Hart
No way Hart would have wrote that.
