The best ever, I understand the arguments for Ronaldo but I think most professionals would say Messi as well

I too understand the arguments for ronaldo, but his career was much shorter, especially after he started putting weight on....

Some record. I used to always think Messi was the best player but Christiano Ronaldo (deslite coming across like a c*ck) has proved himself in different leagues which Messi hasn’t. Think Ronaldo has had to work harder at it though.

I get that, but why would any player ever leave the biggest club in the world by choice, when you’re the highest payed player? He’d have been stupid to leave in my opinion

1-0 Barca, Antoine Griezmann at his former club on his birthday.

2-0 now Sergino Dest, and yet another assist to add to Messi's tally.

Brilliant player and I suspect he will retire at Barca.

Time has passed for him to go to a league like ours and have a major influence.
PSG would possibly suit him, it's an easy league, but there just isn't any point now.
Same with the likes of the MLS.

Once he retires though he can take up the managers job full time at either Argentina or Barca instead of combining it with playing

I prefer ronaldo. Messi is more natural footballing ability - which is why people say he is “unique” even though maradona was very similar. Ronaldo is different in that he is such an athlete and has kept going at such a high level for years. I think we should enjoy them both as the best ever and not debate who was better though.

Barca now running riot 4-0 up and Messi has his customary goal of course.

The really bad news for RS is there's still half an hour to go.

Agree with those posters who state we should enjoy both Messi & Ronaldo well they are still playing, it could be a long while before we witness 2 all time greats playing in the same era again.
