Stout
Stout
Just enjoying a few cans of Murphys draught Irish Stout watching the England game. Haven't had stout in years. It even has the widget thing in the can.
Very nice Any other stout drinkers on here?

Love a stout. There's some cracking Imperial stouts about, but they can be daft strength 10% plus.
Guinness West Indies Porter is ace (not quite a stout I know) and available in most supermarkets.

Sadlers Mud City Stout is excellent. Often pick it up in B&M or places like that for under 2 quid a bottle. 6% so you don't need to drink many

Avery Brewing up in Colorado take their regular Imperial Stout (10%) add Italian Roast coffee to it, and stick it in Bourbon barrels for 6 months. Comes out at 16%

Re: Stout
Mackeson Milk Stout was the original stout brewed in the North of England. Although not very well known in recent years it was supposedly thought to be very nutritious and recommended to be given to nursing mothers in the past.
Mackeson was brewed in several places but today is produced at Hydes in Salford I think.

I bought some of that Broken Dream. Unfortunately, it made Rod spew-up.
Joking aside. I wish they made more good tasting stout around the 5.5% mark and under. All the real stouty tasting stuff is verging on barmy juice percentage.

Re: Stout
Been a dark ale drinker for many years. Agree about Guinness West Indies Porter being an excellent tipple but my favourite is London Porter from Fullers, the makers of London Pride. Guinness is still a great drink along with Murphys and you can get a mild from B&M by a Wolverhampton brewer which is very reasonably priced and well worth a try.

I love a pint of Guiness, anywhere now that it can travel, but when I visit family in Cork, I always go for the Morphys.
Cracking pint.

Re: Stout
Porterhouse Plain Porter is the pest draught Stout I've had. Got it in the Porterhouse, Dublin. Beat all Guinness hands down.
In terms of more local and flavoured varieties, Northern Whisper Beltie on Nitro is good, with Vocation's Barrel aged stuff being very quaffable. Their Imperial stout, aged in red wine barrels, was delicious albeit rocket fuel at over 12%!

Re: Stout
Murphys on tap is incredible, possibly better than Guinness.
The “brew your own” stout that you can do in the Pinter device is supposed to be fantastic

Re: Stout
I used to buy this in Booths and really enjoyed it, but it suddenly disappeared off the shelves a couple of years ago and I haven't seen it since. I think they must have discontinued it. If anyone knows different, tell us where to get it please.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 9:00 pmI used to drink marstons oyster stout that was a nice pint.

Re: Stout
Best pastry stout I've had is from Omnipollo, their Noa Pecan Mud Pie was one of the only beers to rate 100/100 with critics and is well worth it.Awayfromburnley wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 6:52 pmYou all need to try London Beer Factory Tiramisu Pastry Stout. Absolutely phenomenal.

Downside is its rare as rocking horse sh.., usually about £9 a bottle and in some cases retailers limit how much of the stuff you can buy.

Re: Stout
When I was in Dock in the late Seventies you still had the option of a Guiness or Mackeson ipv tea, coffee or coco for your evening drink.
